Does anybody remember Chi-Ali? I damn sure do. I used to love this song, and the whole Native Tongue family; Tribe Called Quest, Jungle Brothers, De La Soul, Black Sheep, Brand Nubian... man those were the days! Anyways, well it looks like Chi has been locked up for killing his baby mama brother back in 2000. Anyways... here's his hit song, "Age Ain't Nothin But A #"
More league smack downs as far as dress code and player decorum go. Prior to the Miami Heat’s 91-83 loss to the Atlanta Hawks on Friday night, the NBA banned Heat superstar Dwyane Wade from donning the infamous signature band-aid that he's been wearing on his left cheek. Although the style isn't really new because Nelly was wearing similar band-aids when he first came out, D Wades look quickly became a fashion statement.
Wade, the league’s leading scorer, originally wore the Band-Aid to seal a cut beneath his left eye. In the following days, including during NBA All-Star Weekend, Wade slapped his name, nickname “Flash” and even the American flag on the Band-Aid, though the wound had healed.
The NBA, doing its best impression of the NFL, wanted to stop the self-promotion. “We spoke to (the Heat),” NBA spokesman Tim Frank said, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. “A player can wear a Band-Aid for healthcare purposes, but it shouldn’t have any name or identifications on it.”
The league aims for conformity at the arena, where players are forced to abide by a strict dress code before and after the game. Citing Frank, the newspaper said that Wade and the Heat weren’t in danger of any penalty but needed a quick reminder.
“We offered clarity to them,” Frank told the Sun-Sentinel. “You can’t wear an identifiable Band-Aid. We don’t expect it to be an issue, so there will be no need for a penalty.” Two years ago, the NBA banned full-length tights under uniforms, which players had used as a fashion statement rather than for their intended medical use. The same now can be said for Wade’s rather unique facial accessory.
How about you NBA big wigs worry about your alcohol and drug addicted players and not the ones that just want to have a little fun all while doing their job and who aren't hurting anyone or anything! DAMN!!!
According to Day-26.com, Bad Boy collective Day26's sophomore effort is titled 'Forever In A Day' and will be released on April 14th. The set will be preceded by confirmed lead single 'Put It On Her', which you can listen to above.
Those of you who have been keeping up with the latest season of Making The Band 4 will have seen the guys express their desire for a more uptempo sound this go round - something they've achieved with this gritty, club banger. Great track.
Tidbit: Diddy and Yung Joc are supposedly to feature on the final version of the track.
We are full aware that the decade of 2000 was the 10 year Bey reign; and it doesn't look look out girl is slowing down anytime soon! R&B superstar Beyonce features on the cover of the April issue of Ebony magazine. I'm feeling most of Bouncy's spread, yet the feature article is equally as good. Check out a preview below:
When asked who is the real Beyonce, she tells the magazine: “I’m a daughter, I’m a friend, I’m a wife, I’m a sister. All those things first. I’m artist. I’m a businesswoman. I’m multifaceted. I’m a lover. I’m inspired by love. I make decisions from the heart.”
When she makes decisions about what projects to do, her priority is not money but personal growth.“I turn down million dollar offers all the time because it’s something that does not feel true for what I’m trying to say. I have to be passionate about it. Love inspires and growth inspires me…If it is not going to be iconic, something I can love 10 years from now, I’ve learned I should not waste my time with it.”
She says her and Jay-Z stay out of each other’s business dealings.
“He was very successful before I met him and I was very successful before I met him. So we have so much respect for each other, and respect for each other artistically. We are very close friends, and I believe he is the ultimate artist and he has the same feelings for me.”
Asked to describe herself as a wife:
“I don’t know how to talk about it because I don’t like to talk about it. But I have a great example of a great wife, and that’s my mother. And I have great friends around me that have been married, so I’m lucky to have really good examples. And a great husband.”
She says they are just like any other couple. She is learning to cook and he’s getting over his single-guy habits.
One thing she does to get on his nerve: “I’m a little messy. Oh, yeah. Whenever I’m out in public, I have to be put together. When I get home, I rebel against it and I don’t want to take care of anything. I drop it. I’m relaxed. I don’t have any shoes on. No makeup. My purse is in the kitchen. I think that is most difficult thing for him. He’s very, very organized. I’m extremely organized when I’m working, and I work so much that when I get home I don’t want to think about anything.”
As for what Jay-Z does that get on her nerves: She laughs, “I won’t say.”
She said she doing charity work such as working with women and children through shelters and organizations. She says she is mentoring and counseling them.
Asked about a quote from years ago where she said she wanted to retire by age 21. She says she could have retired at that age but now she has no intention of ever retiring.
“I’ve worked so hard on my craft, and I will never stop. I will never retire. I love it way too much.”
After the lackluster performance of Cherish's sophomore LP 'The Truth', which dropped last year, (I don't even know a song on that joint), it appears the sister group have parted ways with each other (as well as their label Capitol Records). This news comes as twin sisters, Fallon and Felisha, who fronted the group, revealed that they have formed a duo, aptly called Fallon & Felisha. The pair have reportedly been in the studio with producers Bryan-Michael Cox, Eric Hudson, Don Vito, Adonis, among others.
By clicking the link below you can listen to a new track by the duo called 'Infected' on their MySpace. Listening back to the cut had me very sceptical about where exactly these girls are going with this group, as the song sounds strikingly similar to the material they churned out with Cherish. (Good) Material being one of the group's biggest problems as well as a major lack of individuality/uniqueness among the members (try naming all 4 members of the group off-head...LOL). Still, it'll be interesting to see where this duo idea takes them.

Kimora is steadily on the come up! From the hot guy to the hot child support payments... chick is workin it on out!
Kimora Lee and Russell Simmons have finally worked out their custody situation for Ming & Aoki Lee. 9 year old Ming and 6 year old Aoki are getting hooked up: Russell agreed to paying $20,000/month each per kiddie ($40k total/month) until they’re 19, he will supply them with a car worth no less than $60k and replaced every 3 years until they’re 16, and they must have a nanny AND a security guard with them at all times when they’re visiting Daddy.
Russell is getting monitored visitation every eighth week in the school year and various holidays. Why are his visitations "monitored". Is there something that we, the public, need to know about dude?
Kim Zolciak is having an image crisis—with the guy who used to be responsible for her image. The Real Housewives of Atlanta hausfrau has been sued for breach-of-contract by her publicist, whom she is simultaneously trying to restrain via a court order.
Per TMZ.com, Zolciak has filed a request for a protective order against her former rep, Jonathan Jaxson, in which she accuses him of using the website KimZolciakOnline.com to sabotage her. The brash blonde claims Jaxson changed the password and security settings so she couldn't access the site and then posted a littany of lies about her.
But according to Jaxson's camp, it's Zolciak who needs a lesson on how to play nice with others. "Jaxson is in fear for his safety and has filed a police report with the Atlanta Police Department after threats were made concerning his well-being by Ms. Zolciak," a rep for Jaxson tells E! News.
Jaxson filed a breach-of-contract lawsuit against the aspiring country songstress Feb. 23 for $15,000 in back fees, claiming she had stopped paying his monthly retainer fee, thereby immediately voiding their contract. And furthermore, Jaxson's rep says, he owns the website Zolciak has accused him of hijacking.
Here are those pictures from the 50th issue of King magazine. Yesterday I posted pictures from the event for the debuting of the mag. Christina Millian is the cover model for the issue, but Dawn does a damn good job of spicing things up all by herself!
So who wants to be the first to say "I TOLD YOU SO"! I doooooooooooooo!!!! I knew they were going to get back together. After spending her birthday weekend without him and having a bit of time to reflect on their situation, Rihanna and Chris Brown have decided to stick it out, and work on their relationship.
The couple is spending the weekend at Diddy's Star Island mansion in Miami Beach. The source for this tidbit of news says, "While Chris is reflective and saddened about what happened, he is really happy to be with the woman he loves," via People, which first reported the apparent reconciliation.
All I can say is that, I'm totally not surprised. They're young, and most young people, regardless of their status think that -ish like this is just a one time thing! Whatev! Of course I feel sorry for Rihanna, or any female that is in a situation such as this. But yet, we still don't know all of the particulars of what happened that night. Again, of course no one deserves to be beat up the way C.B. did Rih Rih, but if they do it once... chances are, they'll do it again. Quite possibly, the next time may not be as bad, but if it happens period it's enough to jolt anyone back to reality. Love ain't that damn bomb!!!
Of course people all over the net and the world are up in arms about Michelle Obama and her choice to show her bare arms all the the time. Naturally, I don't have anything against to per se', but a sleeve here or there wouldn't hurt. People are saying things like Mrs. Obama exposing her ripped arms is tacky and classless for a First Lady. But really... is this something that we should really be concerning ourselves about? Don't we have other things to worry about other the absence of a few strips of cloth?
In her offical White House photo, Michelle has once again decided to go bare, and she looks great. Anyone have any other opinions?
Jacki-O has been laying low recently, but she is going to be going hard at Khia when she comes out. In the intro to her new album/mixtape, she places a call to a fake record label called “Bulls**t Records” where the receptionists voice is hilarious.
Anyway, after a quick laugh or two, it is revealed that Jacki-O is making “too much sense” and that Khia is on the label that only puts out bulls**t.
“We strive on pushing bulls**t” LOL! This skit is really funny.
Click here to listen! And listen to the rest of it too… the -ish is pretty funny!
Ya'll know I couldn't show a picture depicting the actually activity. I try to keep this thing as PG-13 as possible! So I decided to fill this post with a little menage' cosmo!
Talk about being oversexed and dying to keep the party goin... how about this -ish; Take one Russian guy is in sexual prime and two Russian girls and what do you get? You get the picture I showed you above *wink*, with a side of "how'd he die?... 'On top o'me'"
That's what the two ladies who were involved in this 12 hour sexcapade with this hot blooded Russian. The young man, Sergey Tuganov, died after he ingested an entire bottle of Viagra pills so that he could be prepared for his two partners. The women bet him a large sum of money that he couldn’t satisfy them both sexually for 12 hours straight. Well, Tuganov actually won the bet, but before he was able to enjoy the victory, he died.
Merely minutes after winning the sex-a-thon, the man died of a massive heart attack. He was only 28 years old! Fellas if you can't do the job au'natural... then just admit defeat and let it go please! One of the woman said that they called the Moscow police, but it was took late. He expired.
After many many years of waiting and talks about how to proceed, the folks over at Fox Searchlight have tapped comedien Eddie Murphy to play the role of his long time cohort the late Richard Pryor.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Eddie Murphy is attached to play the legendary comedian in a new script written by director Bill Condon. The film is called 'Richard Pryor: Is It Something I Said?' and Fox Searchlight is rumored to be the studio putting it in theaters.
Condon, who most recently wrote and directed 'Dreamgirls,' had the Pryor biopic set up at The Weinstein Company but was able to pull it out when the indie outfit put it into turnaround. He initially was hoping to secure $30 million to produce the film, but that figure, sources say, has dropped to $25 million.
Murphy, who landed an Oscar nomination for his role in 'Dreamgirls,' has done Pryor impersonations as part of his act as far back as the 1987 concert movie 'Raw.' Mike Epps and Eddie Griffin were also looking to do biopics on Pryor, but so far there's no development on their ends.

Arkansas Police seized nearly 500 lbs of marijuana on a tour bus returning from NBA All-Star Weekend in Phoenix, this week. According to the driver, the bus was allegedly escorting Fabolous to Boston to pick up "a rapper whose name he couldn't recall."Though Fab was not on the bus at the time of the seizure, the two men who were arrested, Edward Thimas, 52, and Robert Morris, 44, claimed that Fabolous had loaded the marijuana into the locked compartment, as well as close to $6,500 in cash, which the police also confiscated. Though both men agreed that the marijuana belonged to Fabolous, according to the police reports, their stories conflicted regarding the pickup of the drug shipment.
Thimas claimed that Fab had told them to drive the marijuana to Boston and contact himself and "the other rapper" when they arrived, to pick up the shipment. Morris, on the other hand, alleged that they had driven "three rappers from Atlanta to Phoenix," and were transporting the drugs to Boston, where they were meeting the rappers, who had flown ahead. Due to their conflicting stories, the men were arrested for possession. There is no word at this time as to whether Fabolous has been questioned regarding the case.
Fab's fifth album, 'Loso's Way' is scheduled for release this April.
An Atlanta judge has ordered rapper T.I. to pay his ex-girlfriend more money in child support. T.I. will now pay $5,000 a month versus the $3,000, which was originally agreed upon in November.Lashon Dixon, the mother of the boys, ages 7 and 9, claimed the 27-year-old performer was not giving her enough money for the children. Tip countered, stating that he had been voluntarily paying Dixon $2,000 per month prior to the court order.
Judge Bensonetta Tipton Lane ruled that Tip will no longer be responsible for funding the boys' private schooling but would foot the bill for their medical care and extra curricular activities. In addition to the monetary support, the judge granted Tip continued joint custody with primary physically custody remaining with Dixon. Randy Kessler, Dixon's attorney, says that she is pleased with the judgment calling it a "complete victory."Lawyers for the rapper have released no statement regarding the ruling. Tip also has two young sons with fiancée Tameka "Tiny" Cottle, of the 90s R&B group Xcape.
Next month he will begin serving a one year prison sentence for a federal firearms conviction.
US jazz legend Duke Ellington has become the first African American to appear solo on a US coin in common circulation. The US Mint in Washington yesterday (Feb 24) held a celebration to mark the release of the new quarter-dollar coin. Duke Ellington, who lived from 1899 till 1974, was already considered a jazz legend during his lifetime. The first African American to feature on a circulating coin was York, a slave who was depicted alongside 19th century explorers Lewis and Clark. A spokesperson for the US Mint said there had been other African Americans on special commemorative coins.
Ashanti attended the Johnson & Johnson Beauty Product party eariler this week. She brought along her mother, who is also her manager, and her baby sister Shi Shi, or however that child says her name. Not sure if I'm liking Ashanti's choice in dress though. She looks lovely, but I just would have went with another choice. Not feeling the tulle at the bottom not one dayum bit!
Word around the A is that the boys who Jermaine Dupri once hailed the future of R&B, Jagged Edge, are not too happy with him or what's going on with their careers. One member in particular, namely Kyle (pointed out). The latest drama is that the J.E. boys are calling J.D. everything but a child of God. They're accusing him of being a crook, a thief, and a liar. Kyle is upset with the fact that the group isn't getting any pub at all, and that they're not doing anything... AT ALL! For some strange reason, dude is trying to go solo and do his own thing. Ummm... I don't ever recall this dude even leading a song in the Jagged Edge days. Hell... can he sing? You know those recording machines do wonders for these groups who just "look good" but lack any talent!
Kyle holds Jermaine at fault for the group not having any success lately. Again... ummm... can ya'll get signed to a label before you go pointing out why you haven't done jack squat here lately. Hell, Brandon and Brian's parents own a night club in Decatur... go perform there and charge folks. You better do something and stop blaming other people.
President and First Lady Obama honored R&B soul legendary singer Stevie Wonder at the a "concert" in the East Room last night at the White House. The Obamas held a performance and party to celebrate Stevie Wonder being awarded the Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song. During an introduction, President Obama said that Michelle is a tremendous fan of Stevie's and that their wedding song was "You & I"! Awww!!!
Now dammit... I need Stevie to let them damn dreads go... ASAP"
I never thought that it would seriously be hard be an NBA baller to get a babe... but I guess I'm now proven wrong. Washington Wizards Deshawn Stevenson is having no "luck" in that department. After his ex, former Destiny Child member and now solo artist LeToya Luckett dropped because of his cheating ways, he's been trying to get the hook up with all the other R&B and industry chicks. From Brandy, Ciara, to Keyshia Cole, and video girl Melyssa Ford, dude has been unsuccessful at all attempts. Of course he's not being a real man and persuing the women himself. He's having people "hook him up". I guess these girls are pretty smart because I'm sure the reason is because of his statutory rape charges from a few years back. He was 19, and the girl he was sexin was only 14. Yes... that's a big deal folks! I don't care if they are both in their teens! He was grown and she wasn't!
Yes ladies and germs... male groupies are even making head way in the come-up game. But you gotta give credit where credit is due; Kevin Federline didn't stop until he hit pay dirt by marrying Brittney Spears. Dude went on to have two kids by her, and drive her crazy so that he could collect from her!!! That boy is gooooood!
Well, K-Fed is reportedly in talks to start his own children's clothing line. According to WWD.com, K-Fed is in talks with Gerard Guez about a licensing deal. Federline made an overnight stop at the Project trade show in Las Vegas in the interest of research, stayed overnight at the Venetian and said he was looking around at the styles and was hoping to be inspired by what he saw."It's a really tough business, I'm trying to take it seriously and make a quality product for kids but not have parents pay like $500 or something ridiculous for a pair of jeans," he said. "You buy your kids a pair of True Religions, then they roll around in the dirt like kids do and a $200 pair of jeans is gone. With this economy, I'm looking to do something much more reasonable."
Yeah, that sounds good Kevin... but you know the prices of your clothes ain't gonna be too far off the mark of $500. No word on what he'd call his line or a release date
I just heard today that the Atlanta police are currently in search of R&B singer Brian Dalyrimple. If you don't know the name, he was one of the brothers in the 90's R&B group 'Soul Four Real'.
The police are looking for Dalyrimple in connection with an identity fraud case. According to local news station WSBTV, Dalyrimple is involved in an identity theft ring that has claimed several hundred victims around the Duluth, GA and surrounding areas.
Police say he's on the run with his 10-month-old infant son. So far, police have arrested Laborah Crawford, in connection with case, who is being held in the Gwinnett County Jail.
Investigators say that there's over 260 victims, most of them businesses, who've lost more than $1 million collectively as the result of identity theft and financial fraud. Details regarding their scams were not revealed. I'm sorry ya'll... but I hope they catch him. I just had my identity stolen and it's not a fun situation. Especially with what is going on in our economy today. But... you reap what you sow! I just pray that the baby is okay as well!
Dalyrimple enjoyed success in the 90s as a part of the R&B group Soul For Real. Their 1995 single "Candy Rain" hit no. 1 on the R&B Singles chart, while the album of the same title was certified platinum.
I actually like this shoe. Even if it is made by and expensive retailer but looks pretty basic. If you like rocking Lacoste, check out these Missouri 85 Mids. With the help of Mita, Lacoste has created these vibrant kicks to grab your attention. Lacoste has tag-teamed with Japanese retailer Mita to launch the M85-mid, a version of the Missouri 85 cross trainer. Rather than just whacking another level on top, the design team dosed the mid-cut with some dandy details that create a thoroughly new entity. The hexagonal rubber mesh in the ankle is taken from Lacoste’s performance tennis range and works nicely with the forefoot strap. Colour is kept under control with the pop supplied by the croc-emboss and speckled midsole. 150 pairs will be sold through Mita and other top level Lacoste stores.
When looking at these sneakers, the first thing that stands out is the bright purple color that is used to accent throughout the shoe. Also quite impressive is the various textures and patterns at work. And if the green crocodile Lacoste logo on the side of the shoe isn’t obvious enough in terms of branding, the word “Lacoste” is seen in big, bold letters on the heel and on the lace lock strap. We’ll keep you posted as soon as we hear a release date. Via Sneaker News.
