The First Family Checks Up On Beyonce's DC Show

Popstar Beyonce and her alter-ego Sasha Fierce had several very special guests at their DC concert Wednesday (June 24) night. The First Lady, Michelle Obama, as well as several White House staffers and hordes of security, were spotted taking in the singer’s sold out show at the Verizon Center.

Although seeing the first lady hanging out and enjoying herself is a wonderful sight, it was the sight of little Sasha and Malia Obama in the audience, that really got the crowd excited. The First Lady has often cited Beyonce as a role model for her daughters and freely admits that she and The President are both fans of the pop diva as well.

I haven't found any pictures of the family at the concert but you know that there are plenty of Ms. Beyonce all over the place. Hopefully the official White House Flickr page will put some images up in the next few days. I’m sure the family got special backstage access to hang out with the singer.

Barack Obama Holds BBQ On White House Lawn

Yet another reason why I love President Barack Obama! The President held a Fathers Day BBQ on the White House lawn yesterday and invited a few friends along for the festivities. Among the guests were Iron Chef Bobby Flay, Dwayne Wade, The President of Morehouse College. Alonzo Mourning, and several teens from the D.C. area. The President took this opportunity to talk about things that real men should be doing to build up our communities and our families, taking responsibility as men and many other things. I'm sure that this whole thing is going to be satirized by everyone who is an Obama critic or those who were just itching for the moment to say a racial joke referring to blacks and bbq. But who cares!!! It was a blessed event and it looks like everyone enjoyed themselves

Barack Obama Is The Best Excuse EVER!

This right here is the exact reason why Barack Obama is my secret crush!!! Bump the doctors note, or the note from mom saying how you had a tummy ache and that's why you stayed home from school that day. I"ll do you one better... how about an excuse note from the President of the United States??? Yeaaaaaaaaaah... can't nothing top that one.

One little girl in Greenbay, WI actually got that opportunity. The little girls name is Kennedy, and she's ten years old. Little Ms. Kennedy was lucky enough to be able to attend the town hall meeting President Obama held in Greenbay yesterday. Her dad let the President know she had to skip school to do so–plus she absolutely loves the President.

So what did Barack do? On a piece of paper, President Obama wrote:

“To Kennedy’s teacher: Please excuse Kennedy’s absence. She’s with me. Barack Obama.”

President Obama stepped off the stage to hand-deliver the note especially to Kennedy.

That's what I'm talkin about !!!!

The Obamas Honor Stevie Wonder at The White House

President and First Lady Obama honored R&B soul legendary singer Stevie Wonder at the a "concert" in the East Room last night at the White House. The Obamas held a performance and party to celebrate Stevie Wonder being awarded the Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song. During an introduction, President Obama said that Michelle is a tremendous fan of Stevie's and that their wedding song was "You & I"! Awww!!!

Now dammit... I need Stevie to let them damn dreads go... ASAP"

Ya'll know how I feel about the Obamas... but I need to see Michelle in some sleeves just one time... PLEASE!!! Love those arms though!

The Obama family has made another cover; Life & Style magazine is featuring the future first family in their latest issue which is available now. Although Barack is going to be the most powerful man in the free world with the busiest job, the one job that he loves the most is being a father to his two daughters Sasha and Malia. Beyonce To Sing For First Dance At Inauguration!

President-elect Barack Obama’s Inauguration is looking to be a huge star-studded event. Beyonce has been tapped to sing for Barack and Michelle’s first dance on Inauguration night, according to the Associated Press. But the mystery remains as to what she’ll be singing. “It is our hope that we can keep the song secret until the moment,” Presidential Inaugural Committee spokeswoman Linda Douglass told the AP. Meanwhile, Beyonce will be joining her husband, Jay-Z, Mary J. Blige, Stevie Wonder, Alicia Keys, Mariah Carey, Shakira, Sting, Faith Hill, will.i.am, and Maroon 5 for Tuesday night’s Neighborhood Ball, where Jessica Alba, Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Walsh will be presenters.

Mary J Blige & Beyonce Among Many Stars To Appear At Obama Inauguration Kick-Off!

Beyonce, Mary J. Blige and Usher will join more than a dozen other music stars for the official kick off of Barack Obama's presidential inaugural festivities at Washington D.C.'s Lincoln Memorial on Jan. 18.

The free event, which is open to the public, will also be broadcast on HBO and include 19 other performers across various musical genres, including Herbie Hancock, Stevie Wonder, will.i.am, Heather Headley, John Legend, Bono, Bruce Springsteen, Garth Brooks, Shakira, and Sheryl Crow. Queen Latifah, along with Jamie Foxx, Martin Luther King III and Denzel Washington, will give historical readings at the event, which carries the official title "We Are One: The Obama Inaugural Celebration at the Lincoln Memorial." The celebration opens a four-day schedule of Inaugural events that will include 10 official Inaugural Balls, as well as an Inauguration-Day-eve youth concert at the Verizon Center.

A number of other music events celebrating Obama's Inauguration are being planned to take place around Washington D.C. as well, including the Beastie Boys and Sheryl Crow headlining a "Hey, America Feels Kinda Cool Again" event on Jan. 19 at the 9:30 club; WAR and Marc Anthony appearing at the Latino Inaugural Gala at Union Station on Jan. 18; Jay-Z Jan. 19 at the Warner Theatre; and Bela Fleck and Wynton Marsalis performing at CNN's Inaugural event on Jan. 19 at the Kennedy Center.

Barack Does Comics Too!

I swear... this past election of President-Elect, Barack Obama, has brought out the best in everyone... aaaand the worst, but we won't focus on that. B.O. will be featured in a special Inauguration Day edition of Spider-Man.

Barack has long admitted to that he has been a fan for a long time of the comic book series and when the folks over at Marvel heard this revelation, they decided to add the new Pres as a character in an upcoming issue. The issue is said to be a bonus in Marvel Comic's Amazing Spider-Man #583, which will be available in comic book shops nationwide on Jan. 14 for $3.99 and is expected to sell out... YA THINK?, with half the covers devoted to Obama.

Ya'll can't tell me nothin else about this dude! He's beyond the greatest it don't make no sense!

Aretha Franklin To Perform At Inauguration

So we're really gonna do this huh Barack??? I'm sad to admit that this is the first bad decision he's made. Aretha Franklin will sing, Pastor Rick Warren will pray and Yo-Yo Ma will play the cello during President-elect Barack Obama’s Inauguration.

I, for one, don't want to see or hear Aretha perform...but ... who am I? Congressional leaders on Wednesday announced the program, which also will feature poet Elizabeth Alexander; the Rev. Joseph Lowery, a veteran civil rights leader; and the U.S. Marine and Navy bands. The Jan. 20 event on the steps of the Capitol is expected to draw as many as four million visitors to see Obama take the noontime oath from Chief Justice John Roberts, while Vice President-elect Joe Biden will take his oath from Justice John Paul Stevens.

Barack Obama... Time Magazine's Man of the Year!

Barack Obama has done it yet again! He's been named Time Magazines "Person of the Year"!!! Are we really surprised though? I'm not. What... did you expect Sarah Palin or something? Yeah the freak right! Throughout his career, you hear nothing but praise for Barack Obama. Have you heard anyone... other than bitter neo-cons say anything negative about the man? And still, I don't think they believe their own b.s. that they spit his direction. The man is brillient to say the least. He's smart, articulate, smooth, laid back, a great husband & father, and he is our PRESIDENT! Time couldn't have made a better choice!

ALL HAIL THE CHIEF!!!

Just as all of the top tier fashion designers did with the First Lady-Elect Michelle Obama, they have now so done with President-Elect Barack Obama. They are all vieing for the notoriety to say that they dressed the first black President of the United States. Designers such as Kenneth Cole, Sean John, Nautica, and many many more, have all submitted their looks for the next President. They have submitted daytime attire, evening attire, and even specific ties that they think might go well! Above is the design by Reem Acra for the entire Obama family evening look. I must say that it is my favorite!
