Nicole Scherzinger Forced To Be A Pussycat?

During a recent interview, singer/song-writer Keri Hilson lifted the lid on what's going on behind the scenes with the Pussycat Dolls, revealing that lead (and only singer) Nicole Scherzinger was apparetly 'forced' into re-joining the group for their 2nd LP:

Keri Hilson has revealed that she believes that Nicole Scherzinger is "kinda forced" to remain a Pussycat Doll.The R&B singer claimed that Scherzinger's solo album Her Name Is Nicole has been pushed back several times in order for her to continue in the girl group, Ace Showbiz reports. Hilson told the Daily Star:

"I wrote 'Alienated', one of the songs on my album, for Nicole's solo project. It was a good album but she decided to go back to the Dolls instead of releasing it, well she was kinda forced to I think."

Scherzinger will reportedly leave the Pussycat Dolls to focus on her solo career after promotion for their Doll Domination LP is finished.Speculation was fuelled further after the band's single 'Jai Ho!' was released under the name 'Pussycat Dolls featuring Nicole Scherzinger'.In April, fellow group member Melody Thornton launched into a tirade about Scherzinger live on stage at a concert in Phoenix. {Source}

While I'm pretty sure there's more than meets the eye with all this i.e. contracts etc, the whole drama surrounding the group isn't a good look for Nicole's already down-in-the-dumps solo career. For the over-emphasis on her has bred overexposure; put simply, people just ain't checking for her like that - and the Dolls (as a collective) either because of it. The best cause of action at this junction IMO, would be to forget this solo thing (sorry, but the demand just isn't there), hit the studio and give ol' Melody some damn leads - at least to share.

Chris Brown & Keri Hilson... Together Again

It's not like you all are thinking, it's more in a business perspective. Chris Brown certainly isn't letting his legal issues get in the way of trying to put together a new album.

Hitmaking/songwriter/singer Keri Hilson has signed on to help Chris out with his album. Keri says that he contacted her several days ago to come join him in the studio.

"He contacted me like four or five days ago," Hilson said earlier this week during a promotional appearance at Wet Seal in L.A.'s Beverly Center Mall. "Us working together will probably be the first project I've worked on as a songwriter in a while."

This wouldn't be the first time that these two have worked together, they sang a duet for "Superhuman," plus Hilson wrote "Young Love," which is a track on Chris Brown's first album. Even though Chris is currently facing a major legal battle with the alleged beatdown of his ex-girlfriend Rihanna, Hilson thinks his fans may stick with him.

"It is unfortunate what they are going through, but I always feel like if you've ever had a fan base, you're really only one song away from appeasing that fan base," she said. "Whether that song is autobiographical or whether you want to talk about that or not, you're just one hit song away. And that's what I think of the industry in a nutshell."

Keri Hilson Goes For The Gold

Prior to the last few songs that Keri Hilson has put out, I was never really a fan. But now Ms. Hilson is forcing you to listen with her flowing tunes and hip hop infused sounds. According to Interscope Records, has her first gold single, thanks to a little help from Ne-Yo and Kanye West.

The trio came together to collaborate on Keri’s “Knock You Down” track and the union proved to be a very profitable one. KYD has so far sold over 600,000 units, with the ringtone ringing up another 500,000 in sales. The single presently sits at #3 on the Billboard charts, jumping four spots up from last week and overtaking both “Halo” from Beyonce and “Blame It” from Jamie Foxx. Keri needs only take out Pitt Bull (I Know You Want Me) and The Black Eyed Peas (Boom Boom Pow) to achieve her first #1 single- an accomplishment very few singers achieve with their first record.

Keri Hilson will also be seen at this years BET Awards show which airs on June 28th. Keri will be nominated for four awards including Best Female R&B artist, Best New Artist, and Best Collaboration. Hilson is also up for a Viewer’s Choice Award for “Turnin’ Me On”.

Well I'll be Jane Brown!!! Keri Hilson is steppin into the ring of beef. Keri's latest single "Turnin me On" has a remix with T-Pain and Lil Wayne that is soooooooo fi'! That's some southern slang for those who don't know, which means it's hot!!! In the remix, Ms. Keri is goin after Beyonce and Ciara. At first I thought this was just i-net gossip/rumors.... that was until I listened to the track myself!
