Fashion staple and Vogue Editor At Large Andre Leon Talley is a close friend to Jennifer Hudson. Andre just like Jenn, rose from the bottom to the top so he empathizes with her life story. Talley told US mag that Jennifer is "staying close to her family" right now.
"She is doing very, very well. She's very strong," he told Usmagazine.com Friday at Bette Midler's New York Restoration Project's annual Hulaween gala in NYC.
"I think that she has such strength," said Talley, who has been e-mailing the Dreamgirls star, whom he dressed for the 2007 Oscars. "There's so much strength within her that she's going to be OK. The message that she sent to me is that she appreciates all the messages of love that come from all the fans." Talley also says that Jennifer can't bring herself to enter the home where she grew up and her family was taken from her. He explains that it is just too hard for her to do right now, and that she tried to go in a few days after the murders but only got as far as the gate and turned back. Bless her heart. But lets not forget about Julia either everyone. Along with her mother and brother, she lost her heart and soul...her baby Julian! Friends say that the girls are coping as best as they can and they find time to pray whenever possible for the Lord to give them the strength to get through this.
On Sunday night, friends and family paid their respects to Hudson's slain mother, Darnell Donerson, brother Jason and nephew Julian, who were murdered, at a public memorial at the Pleasant Gift Missionary Baptist Church near the family's Chicago home. Along with her sister Julia, Jennifer has also established the Hudson King Foundation for Families of Slain Victims in honor of their loved ones.
