Katt Williams Committed To Mental Hospital

Oooook ladies and germs... I'm not sure what the heck is up with our friend Mr. Katt Williams but his irratic behavior has been all the news on the the gossip sites and any other media outlet that wants to help him out.

If I can recall all that I've read about in the last few weeks... first there was the infamous "NO SHOW" for the BET Awards, then last week he was arrested on gun charges in New York. Last weekend (not sure exactly the days) but several folks that I know went to see him in D.C. and in Atlantic City and both times everybody reported dude actin hella crazy on stage and somewhat discombobulated. But this one right here... my dude... this one right here... takes the cake.

According to family and friends, our Pimpalicious friend has been committed to a mental hospital. *WTF* According to reports, Williams was admitted to a South Carolina psychiatric facility to undergo an evaluation of his mental state. Here is how the Sumter Item is reporting things went down:

The comedian, known for appearances on MTV's "Wild 'n Out" and BET's "Comic View" has made media reports recently for exhibiting erratic behavior, including not showing for an appearance on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" in New York on Nov. 4 and being arrested on weapons charges later that week after a traffic stop. On Friday, he turned up in Sumter and allegedly underwent a mental health evaluation for a possible hospital commitment, at the urging of local family members. This was after run-ins with both city and county law enforcement.

The day's bizarre events began with a call to police early in the morning. Sumter Police Department Maj. Perry Herod said officers responded to a call in reference to suspicious behavior by Williams, 35, on Friday morning at the Mount Vernon Inn.

"And officers did talk with him, and then my understanding is he went on his own to Tuomey Hospital," Herod said.

"Basically we just received a call in reference to a possible suspicious person, but that's the extent of the dealings we had with him," said Sumter Police Chief Patty Patterson. Patterson said Williams was trying to acquire a room at the motel when hotel employees called at around 8:30 a.m. due to his strange attire: a bathrobe and a towel wrapped around his head. After determining no criminal activity was taking place, officers left.

"He asked for some directions, which he was given, and we departed," she said.

Williams appeared on the doorsteps of attorney Garryl Deas' office at 201 N. Main St. around 9 a.m. Friday, after his encounter with police, according to Deas. Deas said the actor came and solicited the attorney's help, though he said he has not been hired to represent Williams.

During this brief conversation, Deas said Williams told him he felt the police were "attempting to violate his rights" and he was interested in retaining Deas' representation. Williams also went on to talk about his entertainment career and revealed there were people who thought he was missing because he had failed to report to some engagements, Deas said. The actor said there were even rumors he had perished in a plane crash, which Deas said was obviously not true.

"He was alive and in color in my office this morning," he said.

Deas said he talked with Williams until about 9:30 a.m. when the attorney had to leave for a court appearance. Williams asked if he could wait for Deas, and Deas told him he could, Deas said.

When Deas returned to his office at about 10:30 a.m., Williams was waiting for him. By this time, Deas said, Williams' behavior had changed.

"His demeanor was a little troubled," Deas said. He said the actor seemed "disoriented."

About that time, family or close friends of Williams arrived to try to take him to the hospital for mental evaluation, Deas said. He said the family was seeking to have the actor committed. He was under the impression the family members were a teenaged daughter and the daughter's mother. Williams, however, did not want to listen to their urging that he visit the hospital, Deas said. His erratic behavior continued

"He just said that he doesn't trust anyone anymore," Deas said. He said he thought "everyone has turned against him. He wasn't really coherent."

By that point, the actor was "speaking gibberish," Deas said, though he declined to guess whether the actor was intoxicated.

Deas said the family was seeking an order from a probate judge to force him to be seen for a mental evaluation. Sumter Probate Judge Dale Atkinson, however, said neither he nor any of his staff issued a pickup order for anyone by the name of Katt Williams.

Sumter County Sheriff Anthony Dennis said, however, that an order was issued by the probate court and that because his department becomes involved with these type of matters, his office was called.

Dennis said the call came in around noon and deputies arrived to transport Williams to the hospital. Though he was vocal in his desire not to go, Williams was not physically aggressive.

She could not reveal whether Williams or his family had been in contact with them, but Kathleen Higgins, clinical director for Santee Wateree Mental Health Center, said in order for someone to be psychiatrically committed, one has to be assessed by a mental health worker, "and then a doctor has to sign the commitment papers."

Did You Happen To Notice Tuesday Night...

Did any of you happen to notice the bulletproof glass that was installed on the stage for President-Elect Barack Obama? I did, but I wasn't sure. Like, I noticed it, but I thought it was just on the corners of the stage, but apparently not.

He has already been the target of two assassination plots and hundreds of threats from white supremacists. So it was no surprise that Barack Obama's victory speech was delivered from behind two-inch thick bullet proof glass. Although he will not move into the White House until January security has already been stepped up around the President-elect. The clear protective screens he was sandwiched between at Grant Park in Chicago were the fist visible sign of the fears he will be the target of an assassination attempt.

The bulletproof glass was not visible to the millions of people worldwide watching his speech on TV. Also unseen were the dozens of Secret Service agents who had taken up position in the crowd and the high rise buildings overlooking the park. Hours before Obama stepped on stage Secret Service agents had posed as the Democratic presidential candidate to 'test' his exposure to an assassin's bullet. A red laser dot was 'fired' on to the chest of the agents from others posing as sniper's in the skyscrapers overlooking the park. After the test was carried out it was decided to install the 10 feet high and 15 feet long screens. A marquee housing the TV cameras meant he was not at risk from the front of the park. A no-fly zone was also imposed over the area, with only police helicopters allowed in the air.

The elaborate security measures, as well as the suffocating presence of dozens of agents, is something Obama, his wife and two young children will now have to learn to live with. Fears that he will be targeted by white supremacists has led to his Secret Service detail to double in size overnight. From 12 agents - the number usually assigned to a vice president - he will have a full complement of 30 agents to provide round the clock protection.

While race hate groups are thought to pose the most risk there are a number of organisations and individuals who pose a threat from within the US. He will also face threats from Al Qaeda and other Islamic extremists who hate America. British Nobel prize winner Doris Lessing provoked outrage earlier this year when she predicted Obama would be assassinated if he were elected president.

In January the term 'Obama assassination' appeared on the top 100 Google search terms. The Secret Service have looked into at least 500 assassination threats against Obama. While the majority were dismissed at least a dozen have been investigated.

The most recent was two weeks ago when two skinheads with links to a neo-Nazi group were arrested in Tennessee. Daniel Cowart and Paul Schlesselman have been charged with making threats against a presidential candidate. The pair allegedly planned to rob a gun store and then carry out a killing spree at an unnamed predominantly African-American high school before killing Obama. Court documents showed that the plot did not appear to be very advanced or sophisticated. But it highlighted the threat facing Obama and his family.

Not only will the Illinois senator, wife Michelle and daughters Malia and Sasha receive round-the-clock protection but his closest relatives will also be affected. Family outings will be cut out and his daughters will receive protection on their way to and from school.

Andre Leon Talley Speaks On Friend Jennifer Hudson

Fashion staple and Vogue Editor At Large Andre Leon Talley is a close friend to Jennifer Hudson. Andre just like Jenn, rose from the bottom to the top so he empathizes with her life story. Talley told US mag that Jennifer is "staying close to her family" right now.

"She is doing very, very well. She's very strong," he told Usmagazine.com Friday at Bette Midler's New York Restoration Project's annual Hulaween gala in NYC.

"I think that she has such strength," said Talley, who has been e-mailing the Dreamgirls star, whom he dressed for the 2007 Oscars. "There's so much strength within her that she's going to be OK. The message that she sent to me is that she appreciates all the messages of love that come from all the fans." Talley also says that Jennifer can't bring herself to enter the home where she grew up and her family was taken from her. He explains that it is just too hard for her to do right now, and that she tried to go in a few days after the murders but only got as far as the gate and turned back. Bless her heart. But lets not forget about Julia either everyone. Along with her mother and brother, she lost her heart and soul...her baby Julian! Friends say that the girls are coping as best as they can and they find time to pray whenever possible for the Lord to give them the strength to get through this.

On Sunday night, friends and family paid their respects to Hudson's slain mother, Darnell Donerson, brother Jason and nephew Julian, who were murdered, at a public memorial at the Pleasant Gift Missionary Baptist Church near the family's Chicago home. Along with her sister Julia, Jennifer has also established the Hudson King Foundation for Families of Slain Victims in honor of their loved ones.

Memorial Services For Hudson Family

The Hudson family has decided to hold a public memorial in addition to their private funeral services for Darnell Hudson, Julian King, and Jason Hudson. A memorial service will be held this evening (Sunday) for all three slain family members. The service is open to the public and will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Pleasant Gift Missionary Baptist Church located at 4526 S. Greenwood, Chicago, IL. There will also be a private service at the church from 3 to 4 p.m. Organizers of the services say Jennifer Hudson and her sister, Julia Hudson, will not be in attendance. The Hudson family will be holding private funeral services on Monday. The invitation-only funeral service will be held on the South Side of Chicago at the Apostolic Church of God.

Def Jam VP Shakir Stewart Found Dead

The man who was the successor to Jay-Z over at Def Jam, executive vice president Shakir Stewart committed suicide today (Nov. 1) in Marietta, GA, a suburb outside of Atlanta according to sources. Shakir was discovered in his apartment around 4pm with a self-inflicted gunshot would to the head. Upon medical arrival, he was taken to Kennestone Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Stewart succeeded Jay-Z at the top of the Def Jam ladder in June and also retained his duties as senior VP of A&R at Island Def Jam. The Oakland, Calif., native signed such artists as Rick Ross, Young Jeezy and newcomer Karina Pasian. Stewart cut his teeth as a music executive at Hitco Music Publishing, where he was creative director and later senior VP of creative/GM and signed Beyonce Knowles.

Even before he gained a rep for promoting rap concerts during his Morehouse College days, Stewart was "the guy who was the head of passing out fliers at seven clubs a night, seven days a week in 20-degree weather," he told Billboard magazine in an interview he did this summer. Stewart said at the time it was his goal to help develop "new, young executives ... The hot executive who's 21, 22 years old and has a serious passion for music and the desire to work 27 hours a day. That's where I was at that time in my life. And that's who I'm looking to mentor. I don't see many people like that. Instead, I see a lot of kids who want to live the lifestyle but don't want to put in the work and do what it takes."

Breaking News: The Body of Julian King Found In SUV

It is with a very heavy heart that I bring this news to you all. I'm sitting here crying as I type this out. News sources in Chicago are reporting a body matching that of 7 year old Julian King has been found. The body was found just a little while ago inside of the white suburban authorities have been searching for around the clock since Friday. Officials from the Medical Examiner’s Office were been called to the scene at 1313 S. Kolin Ave. (5 miles from the Hudson family home) after receiving a report of a black male child being found in an SUV. The SUV fits the exact description and exact license plate number. The people in the neighborhood say the SUV is unfamiliar and has been there about 3 days. And Channel 9 news in Chicago is now reporting that the body has been identified as Julian King.

Pray for Jennifer and Julia... please!!!!

Jennifer Hudson and Family Say Thank You.

By now we all know the tragedy that has struck the Hudson family this weekend and many of us have sent up prayers and have shown support in this great time of need for Jennifer and her sister Julia. Julia's son Julian King is still missing, and it's being reported that little Julian is being held for ransom. I can't even fathom what this would even feel like for anyone to have to go through. Losing a mother, brother, and your son is missing. JESUS!!! I just want everyone, if you are reading this, say a prayer. If you don't believe in prayer just speak it... speak the safe return of little Julian. The power of the tongue is unbelievable!

Jennifer Hudson has posted on her myspace page today a plea to her friends and fans to help find her nephew Julian. She says:

“Thank you all for your prayers and your calls. Please keep praying for our family and that we get Julian King back home safely. If anyone has any information about his whereabouts please contact the authorities immediately. Here is a picture of Julian and what he was last seen wearing. Once again thank you all for being there for us through this tough time.”

Presidential candidate Barack Obama has also released a statement to Jennifer and her family. With her being from his state of Illinois and also Jennifer having sang for the DNC back in August:

“Michelle and I were absolutely heartbroken to learn about this unimaginable tragedy, and we want Jennifer and to know that she is in our thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time. We also pray for the swift and safe return of her young nephew.”

Neighbors in the S. Chicago neighborhood where the incident took place are saying that William Balfour, Julias husband and Julians stepfather, has made threats of taking Julian from his mother is she kept "playing him". My goodness! Pray people please!

MC Breed On Life Support

MC Breed the Michigan bred rapper that gave us the early 90's hit "Ain't No Future In Yo Frontin", is in critical condition at an undisclosed hospital in Atlanta, where he is on life support due to kidney failure.

His manager, Darryl Morris, said the rapper, born Eric Breed, was playing a game of pickup basketball Friday evening (September 5) in Atlanta, when he collapsed and fell unconscious.

“He had to be revived three times,” Morris told AllHipHop.com. “He had to be rushed to the hospital where they diagnosed him and told him his kidney’s have failed.”

MC Breed who is 36 now, needs a kidney transplant in order to save his life. Breed's manager told AHH that they are attempting to contact a number of rappers to participate in a benefit concert for the revered rapper, which will take place in his hometown of Michigan.

“We are hoping we can find Breed a kidney through this process, before its too late,” Morris said.

Jacksonville's Richard Collier Fights For His Life

Ok... Football really needs to hurry up and get started because these football players are getting in to too much trouble. Last week, I gave you the story on Jacksonville's Wide Receiver Dennis Northcutt supposedly having his baby mama beat up by his cousin. Now, Jacksonville's offensive tackle, Richard Collier is in a Jacksonville hospital fighting for his life right now.

The 26 year old Collier and former teammate Kenneth Pettway were waiting in a car outside an apartment building when a gunman shot into the vehicle, said Jacksonville Sheriff's Office spokesman Ken Jefferson. Collier was shot several times but it's not clear where he was hit.

The shooting happened around 2:45 a.m. in a middle-to upper class neighborhood just west of downtown Jacksonville. Collier was in critical condition at Shands Jacksonville Medical Center, a hospital official said. The motive behind the attack was unclear, and the sheriff's office was investigating.
