Former U.S. track star and shamed Olympiad Marion Jones has been moved from a federal prison in Fort Worth and will serve the remainder of her sentence in a San Antonio prison.
The disgraced Olympic star was initially sentenced to six months in prison in January for lying to federal agents about her use of performance-enhancing drugs and a check-fraud scam. Her prison sentence didn't begin until March, thus the upcoming release. She was also given 400 hours of community service to do in the first two years following her release.
Federal Bureau of Prisons spokeswoman Traci Billingsley says Jones was transferred to a community corrections center in San Antonio on Tuesday. This is all a part of the release process scheduled for Sept 5 for Jones, according to The Dallas Morning News.
Jones repeatedly denied that she used performance-enhancing drugs, then admitted last October she lied to investigators in November 2003.
