Techy Talk: Bulb Caps

This is great for those folks who have that one or several boring little bulbs that dangle froma string in your closets, or basements or where have you. These bulbs make great shades for those lonely lights.

It's just a simple little cap that you can slip onto the light bulb itself. The disadvantage of using the bulb caps is that you can't use them on any and every type of light bulb. You can only use them on a regular bulb that does not exceed 40 watts which isn’t very bright. But for the more economical bulbs, there is no limit.

One cool thing is that after you turn off the light the lampshade will glow a green/yellow tone for a short while after the light has been turned off. Which might be nice for younger kids as they are falling asleep, just depending on how brightly it glows and how long it will last. It is made out of a heat resistant silicon rubber and comes in shades of green, luminescent, orange, red, turquoise and lilac. I guess another draw back would be the price. Just for one bulb shade, it's $20. I know it's a cute idea, but it ain't that damn cute... especially in this economy. Click here to purchase a bulb
