Now enough is enough. So no ads, pictures, daunting words, or anything about Sen. John McCain huh? Ok... fair enough. But I'm going to laugh my ass off at everybody when Barack Obama wins this thing! That's what's got people so damn shook. It's the fact that they know he has it sewed up!
Anyways, *sigh*, in this ridiculous depiction of Barack and Michelle, The New Yorker has decided to satirize Michelle Obama as a afro wearing, AK-47 toting militant, while they portray Barack as a flag burning Muslim. Bull-ish!
Politico.com has shoved out two statements on this issue. The first from The New Yorker and the cartoonist that drew the picture:
>“On the cover of the July 21, 2008, issue of the The New Yorker, in ‘The Politics of Fear,’ artist Barry Blitt satirizes the use of scare tactics and misinformation in the Presidential election to derail Barack Obama’s campaign.”
The cartoonist had this to say: "I think the idea that the Obamas are branded as unpatriotic [let alone as terrorists] in certain sectors is preposterous. It seemed to me that depicting the concept would show it as the fear-mongering ridiculousness that it is."
What did the Obama camp have to say about all of this foolishness? “The New Yorker may think, as one of their staff explained to us, that their cover is a satirical lampoon of the caricature Senator Obama’s right-wing critics have tried to create. But most readers will see it as tasteless and offensive. And we agree.”
They are so trying to make Barack come outside of himself and let these folks have it. HA!!! But that is not going to happen. He is too much of a real man to let this stuff break him down. All of these antics are childish and uncouth.
