Patti LaBelle To Be Honored

A night of soulful singing and celebrating whill be in the mix for a special tribute to Patti LaBelle. Singers such as Anita Baker, Joss Stone, Jennifer Hudson, Dionne Warwick, Yolanda Adams and Fantasia are among the performers set to help honor LaBelle at the United Negro College Fund's "An Evening of Stars."

Brian McKnight and Wayne Brady are also slated to perform at the event, organizers announced Friday. LaBelle, 64, will be recognized for her career achievements and longtime support of the educational organization. Previous UNCF honorees include Smokey Robinson, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Quincy Jones and Lou Rawls.

The event, set for Sept. 13 at the Kodak Theater, is open to the public.
