Is Diddy Going Back To Puff Daddy?

As of today, Diddy's reps say that the rumors of him going back to being called "Puff Daddy" are not true. Well... his myspace page and a recent song that he did say otherwise! Over the past several years, the hip hop mogul has gone by many aliases including, Puffy, Puff Daddy, P. Diddy, Shiny Suit Manand here within the last few years just Diddy. According to Diddy's myspace page, and a rap he just did Diddy says that he is reclaiming the handle "Puff Daddy", which he hasn't gone by since 2001.

"They call me Puff Daddy...he's back," Combs raps on the remix of former stylist O'Neal McKnight's single "Check Your Coat," which also features Greg Nice and Jermaine Dupree. "Yeah, you heard me right—I said Puff Daddy," he continues. "I'm about to back on that Puff Daddy shit."

Sounds like he's claiming the old moniker to me! Despite the fact that he just wrote :"This is your boy Puff Daddy!!! Yes Puff Daddy" on a recent blog entry, dated for today states, "This is your boy P. Diddy, The King of the Remix,". I recently reported a cease and desist order that Diddy's law team handed down to a small time cuff link distributor called "Cuff Daddy", so I'm assuming, along with many others, that this whole change of heart with the name thing stems from all of that. Whether he's using it or not, Diddy doesn't want anybody making a profit off of nothing that he initiated other than himself. It could also be the fact that back in 2006, Diddy was told by a British court that he couldn't go by the name Diddy because U.K. record producer Richard "Diddy" Dearlove had already been using that name for years. Either way, do we call the dude Diddy or Daddy?
