Singer India Arie and Danity Girl bad girl, Aubrey O'day are the newest members to join the throngs of Broadway babies.
India.Arie is set to perform in Ntozake Shange's For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf, beginning September 8 at N.Y.C.'s Circle in the Square Theater. The R&B soul singer will open the Whoopi Goldberg-produced play, which is an updated reprisal of the 1976 off-Broadway hit.
Aubrey, will be playing a familiar character who we all love to hate if you're a Hairspray fan; She'll be taking on the role of Amber Von Tussle, the stuck-up arch-nemesis of Tracy Turnblad. The production will start on July 18 at New Yorks Neil Simon Theatre.
