Producer extraordinaire F. Gary Grey, who is responsible for smash movies such as Friday, Set It Off, The Italian Job, and Be Cool, is in the process of doing a movie about one of the best R&B crooners, Marvin Gaye. Right now, Grey and his team are shopping the movie around to different studios and individuals to financially back the music rights to Gaye's music catalog. Getting the music rights for the movies soundtrack has been the biggest mountain to climb (no pun intended).
Soprano's star James Gandolfini is also doing a biopic of Marvin Gaye entitled "Sexual Healing". Gandolfini's version will only focus on the later years of Marvin Gaye's life, while Grey's film will cover Marvin's complete life story.
