First lady, Laura Bush told ABC that right-wingers are taking Michelle Obama's statement about being “really proud of my country for the first time”, out of context. “I think she probably meant ‘I’m more proud’. That’s what she really meant,” Bush told ABC News during a trip to Afghanistan. “You have to be really careful in what you say because everything you say is looked at and in many cases misconstrued.” If you recall, back in February while the Democratic primaries were heating up, Michelle made the statement. This small statement was turned completely upside down by the Republican party and they used Michelle Obama as their poster child for "Anti-Americanism". Despite what most of the Republican party tried to make this out to be, the statement still received praise from our idiot president G.W. Bush. “I thought it was a really good statement, powerful moment when a major political party nominates an African American man to be their standard bearer. And it’s good for our democracy.” Condy even gave a statement in regards to Baracks nomination, “it's a great thing. As a black American, it’s a great thing. America’s a country that slowly but surely has been overcoming what I call its birth defect” – racial inequality"
