Gabrielle Union has a new look. I'm not sure if I'm feeling it though. I might be biased because I'm a fan of long hair. Whatever the case may be, if cutting her hair is making her feel better then by all means "Do You Girl"! Anyways, Gabby is on the July cover of Essence Magazine. This isn't the first time that she has graced the cover of Essence; Back in December of 2007, Gabby, along with Nia Long and Sanaa Lathan, appeared on the cover. In that issue, Gab gave her views and opinions on us out here in the black blogosphere and she caught a lot of flack behind those comments... but she' entitled to her opinion. Doesn't bother me because I'm just doing my civic duty to keep you all informed! This time around, she's discussing her beauty and fitness secrets. She tells Essence that learning to love her body was a spiritual and physical process. It took me a long time to really learn to like Gabrielle Union. The roles that she took on at a younger stage in her career were always prissy and real bitchy or stuck up. I can't stand those types of chicks. But all in all, if that's what the role required, you had to respect her because she did her job by making you hate her character. She's a sweet girl though. Along with the shorter do and fantastic workout regimine, I'm sure being on the "A" list of black celebrities has given her self-esteem a real boost too. When asked about the new hair cut, she says, “I felt fierce, fierce as the devil. I can already tell that people take you more seriously when they are not distracted by long curly locks.
