Idris Elba Is Essence Mags Cover Bachelor!!! YUM!!

Chocolate Boy Wonder and the sexiest British dude I've ever seen in my life, actor Idris Elba covers the August 2009 Bachelor issue of Essence Magazine. All I can say is... I've seen this man in person... and veeeeeery up close... FINE! The only word that can describe him! Wait... Yum diddly yum yum yum!!! Those words too!

In his cover story he talks about what turns him on, the type of women he likes to date and relationships.

On Dating:
“I’d rather date someone who’s regular. But what often happens is that she faces huge criticism like , ‘Why her? She’s Miss. Ordinary’ ”

On the type of women he likes:
“Be an independent woman. I love that……”“But at the same time don’t be ashamed to, you know, throw your toys on the floor and let me pick them up.”

On relationships:
“There is something quite devious about my personality,” he confides with a sly grin. “I’ll do all the right things. I’ll be the upstanding gentleman but behind closed doors, I want to let loose. As long as I know my secrets aren’t going to get out. You know what I mean?”

On his previous relationship and 7 Year Old Daughter:
“It’s complicated when you were once an item and then you’ve got this child who is so untouched by the drama that you both had…..I understand how people get hurt and have arguments. But we work through it.”

Rick Ross & Ciara Rap It Up

Rick Ross and Ciara have dual roles in the upcoming issue of Rap-Up mag. In his issue, the "Boss" talks about his on-going beef with 50 Cent, Eminem, and the rapper who he named his latest car after.

When asked why he believes that Eminem stays out of 50's dumb ass beefs:
“Because he knows 50 is a monkey. He’s Eminem’s personal monkey. Eminem is a genius for signing the monkey. Once Eminem is through with him and Jimmy Iovine’s through with him, he may end up on Maybach Music and be my monkey.”

Speaking on Kanye arrogance:
“He’s supposed to be. What is he supposed to do, not be flamboyant, not be fly, not be arrogant? Why not? I feel like why should another ni**a be insecure about another man. That’s a man; he got his own lane.”

On his could-have-been football career:
“When I started playing football in little league, all the small dudes could play, but I was too heavy. I was so focused that by the time I got to the eleventh grade, I was a blue-chip All-American. Over two years, I went from being nobody to being considered one of the top three linemen in Florida.”

On the flip side, it's Ciara. I love the cover of this one.

On her trust issues:
“It’s very hard to trust people because you really never know their motives. I’ve seen it enough times to where the person can be really cool and seem like your closest friend and they are doing something you never would imagine or expect from them, whether it’s talking about you or being around you to get information about you.”

On fellow ATLien Keri Hilson:
“I knew her back when she was really trying to get in pocket and become an artist, and I know she had been trying way longer than I had back then. Back in the day, I used to ask her to sing for me. I forgot what song she used to sing, but vocally I thought she was crazy. As a writer, I thought she was dope. We did one song together on my first album. That was back when we were kinda around each other.”

On Beyoncé comparisons:
“I know what work I put in to what I do and I know where I get my inspiration from and it’s definitely not the references that they put up on the Internet. People live for it. Negative energy travels faster than positive energy. Whoever it was, for them to dig deep down and find all those references, that’s ridiculous.”

I was really wanting her to open up about her relationship with Bow Wow... but...

Queen Latifah Talks About Her Childhood

Everybody goes through struggles, even your favorite celebrities. Actress Queen Latifah recently revealed a dark secret from her past, dating back to when she was a child. In the July issue of Essense, the Queen talked about enduring sexual abuse as a child and surviving.
"He violated me," the Oscar-nominated actress says of a teenage male babysitter. "I never told anybody; I just buried it as deeply as I could and kept people at an arm's distance ... I never really let a person get too close to me," Latifah continued.
According to Latifah, that abuse would cause her problems for years to come, which is one of the reasons she's yet to marry.

Tocarra Takes It Off For King

Aaaaaaalright then! Tocarra is makin me mad! Or would that be jealousy rearing it's pointy little head? Possibly the latter. Ms. Tocarra Jones has got herself another magazine spread. This time in the chickfamous eye candy mag King. Tocarra has given a whole new meaning to the term plus-sized. Heck, I don't even know if you could consider her plus sized anymore. She's totally given us girls with more "comfort" more aspirations in the realm of loving your body for what it is. In the spread, Tocarra bares her soul... and her bodacious body. Check out what the former Top Model contestant has to say:

We remember an episode of ANTM where you were trying to squeeze your twins into a cocktail dress. How big are they?
*I’m a G.
Good grief, woman! You went up from a DDD?
*Well, I never knew my real bra size. Growing up I was always top heavy and my family was never able to buy me my real size ’cause they’re more expensive. Six months ago, I was in Columbus, Ohio, in Nordstrom’s and this lady suggested I try a G. I’m a big girl.
The Gs get a lot of the attention, but you’ve got a little bubble too.
*People been talkin’ about my booty now. That’s a new experience for me.
My boys would call you a hat trick—three goals: face, booty and breasts.
*Why I gotta be a trick?
No, we mean, “hat trick.” It’s like this hockey…forget it. How about we call you a triple threat?
*That’s much better. All my friends have nice butts. When we take pictures, my friend Liris [Crosse] is the bottom and I’m the top. I’ve been neglecting the booty

Michelle Obama Shares "O" Cover With Oprah

After sharing the cover of her magazine with her slimmer self a couple months back, Oprah Winfrey is for the first time sharing it with somebody else: First Lady Michelle Obama.

Winfrey showed off the cover of the April issue during “The Oprah Winfrey Show” broadcast Friday. The media mogul had gone solo on the “O’’ magazine cover for nine years.

In the issue that will hit the newsstands March 17, Winfrey interviews the first lady about topics ranging from her decorating philosophy to how she hopes she can help other women.

In the interview, Obama talks about her first weekend in the White House and how the Obama family sees it as their responsibility to make the White House what she calls the “people’s house.”

T.I. Covers Vibe

The 'dapper' thug is on one last mag before he heads to the clink later on this month. T.I. bites back at rumors about how he scored this largely unprecedented deal... saying “Ain’t no such thing as a secret snitch…Pull up my agreement. It’s public record"

In an very detailed report in the mag titled, "Cell Therapy", the article chronicles the superstar’s ground breaking legal battle and gut-wrenching journey since his 2007 arrest for attempting to collect three unregistered machine guns and two silencers right before he was to appear for the BET Hip Hop Awards performance rehearsal.

Beyonce Covers Ebony

We are full aware that the decade of 2000 was the 10 year Bey reign; and it doesn't look look out girl is slowing down anytime soon! R&B superstar Beyonce features on the cover of the April issue of Ebony magazine. I'm feeling most of Bouncy's spread, yet the feature article is equally as good. Check out a preview below:

When asked who is the real Beyonce, she tells the magazine: “I’m a daughter, I’m a friend, I’m a wife, I’m a sister. All those things first. I’m artist. I’m a businesswoman. I’m multifaceted. I’m a lover. I’m inspired by love. I make decisions from the heart.”

When she makes decisions about what projects to do, her priority is not money but personal growth.“I turn down million dollar offers all the time because it’s something that does not feel true for what I’m trying to say. I have to be passionate about it. Love inspires and growth inspires me…If it is not going to be iconic, something I can love 10 years from now, I’ve learned I should not waste my time with it.”

She says her and Jay-Z stay out of each other’s business dealings.

“He was very successful before I met him and I was very successful before I met him. So we have so much respect for each other, and respect for each other artistically. We are very close friends, and I believe he is the ultimate artist and he has the same feelings for me.”
Asked to describe herself as a wife:

“I don’t know how to talk about it because I don’t like to talk about it. But I have a great example of a great wife, and that’s my mother. And I have great friends around me that have been married, so I’m lucky to have really good examples. And a great husband.”

She says they are just like any other couple. She is learning to cook and he’s getting over his single-guy habits.

One thing she does to get on his nerve: “I’m a little messy. Oh, yeah. Whenever I’m out in public, I have to be put together. When I get home, I rebel against it and I don’t want to take care of anything. I drop it. I’m relaxed. I don’t have any shoes on. No makeup. My purse is in the kitchen. I think that is most difficult thing for him. He’s very, very organized. I’m extremely organized when I’m working, and I work so much that when I get home I don’t want to think about anything.”

As for what Jay-Z does that get on her nerves: She laughs, “I won’t say.”

She said she doing charity work such as working with women and children through shelters and organizations. She says she is mentoring and counseling them.

Asked about a quote from years ago where she said she wanted to retire by age 21. She says she could have retired at that age but now she has no intention of ever retiring.

“I’ve worked so hard on my craft, and I will never stop. I will never retire. I love it way too much.”
