The First Family Checks Up On Beyonce's DC Show

Popstar Beyonce and her alter-ego Sasha Fierce had several very special guests at their DC concert Wednesday (June 24) night. The First Lady, Michelle Obama, as well as several White House staffers and hordes of security, were spotted taking in the singer’s sold out show at the Verizon Center.

Although seeing the first lady hanging out and enjoying herself is a wonderful sight, it was the sight of little Sasha and Malia Obama in the audience, that really got the crowd excited. The First Lady has often cited Beyonce as a role model for her daughters and freely admits that she and The President are both fans of the pop diva as well.

I haven't found any pictures of the family at the concert but you know that there are plenty of Ms. Beyonce all over the place. Hopefully the official White House Flickr page will put some images up in the next few days. I’m sure the family got special backstage access to hang out with the singer.

Michelle Obama Shares "O" Cover With Oprah

After sharing the cover of her magazine with her slimmer self a couple months back, Oprah Winfrey is for the first time sharing it with somebody else: First Lady Michelle Obama.

Winfrey showed off the cover of the April issue during “The Oprah Winfrey Show” broadcast Friday. The media mogul had gone solo on the “O’’ magazine cover for nine years.

In the issue that will hit the newsstands March 17, Winfrey interviews the first lady about topics ranging from her decorating philosophy to how she hopes she can help other women.

In the interview, Obama talks about her first weekend in the White House and how the Obama family sees it as their responsibility to make the White House what she calls the “people’s house.”

Of course people all over the net and the world are up in arms about Michelle Obama and her choice to show her bare arms all the the time. Naturally, I don't have anything against to per se', but a sleeve here or there wouldn't hurt. People are saying things like Mrs. Obama exposing her ripped arms is tacky and classless for a First Lady. But really... is this something that we should really be concerning ourselves about? Don't we have other things to worry about other the absence of a few strips of cloth?

In her offical White House photo, Michelle has once again decided to go bare, and she looks great. Anyone have any other opinions?

The Obamas Honor Stevie Wonder at The White House

President and First Lady Obama honored R&B soul legendary singer Stevie Wonder at the a "concert" in the East Room last night at the White House. The Obamas held a performance and party to celebrate Stevie Wonder being awarded the Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song. During an introduction, President Obama said that Michelle is a tremendous fan of Stevie's and that their wedding song was "You & I"! Awww!!!

Now dammit... I need Stevie to let them damn dreads go... ASAP"

Ya'll know how I feel about the Obamas... but I need to see Michelle in some sleeves just one time... PLEASE!!! Love those arms though!

Michelle Obama Covers People Magazine

In the issue, Malia and Sasha talk about how the rules are still the same in the White House, as they were in the Chicago house. The chores still need to be completed. They make their own beds, clean their rooms and even clear the table and clean the dishes! Damn mama and daddy Obama! But I'm not even mad at them for instilling these much needed values in their girls.

Michelle tells the mag, "People want to make your life easy, and when you have small kids – I've explained this to the staff – they don't need their lives to be easy. They're kids," she says when explaining how she informed the White House staff not to do too much for the young girls.

The girls do have roaming privileges all around the historic mansion and can pop into the Oval Office whenever they want. "I've tried to encourage them to feel like this whole place is their home," Mrs. Obama tells PEOPLE. "We actually had this conversation – just let us know where you're going."

The issue of People Magazine hits newsstands on Friday.

Although Barack is going to be the most powerful man in the free world with the busiest job, the one job that he loves the most is being a father to his two daughters Sasha and Malia. Beyonce To Sing For First Dance At Inauguration!

President-elect Barack Obama’s Inauguration is looking to be a huge star-studded event. Beyonce has been tapped to sing for Barack and Michelle’s first dance on Inauguration night, according to the Associated Press. But the mystery remains as to what she’ll be singing. “It is our hope that we can keep the song secret until the moment,” Presidential Inaugural Committee spokeswoman Linda Douglass told the AP. Meanwhile, Beyonce will be joining her husband, Jay-Z, Mary J. Blige, Stevie Wonder, Alicia Keys, Mariah Carey, Shakira, Sting, Faith Hill, will.i.am, and Maroon 5 for Tuesday night’s Neighborhood Ball, where Jessica Alba, Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Walsh will be presenters.

Barack & Michelle Obama Cover Essence

It’s an Obama double dose. President-elect Barack Obama and soon-to-be First Lady Michelle Obama both grace the cover of the new issue of Essence magazine, on newsstands December 12 — and ET was given a first look. The Obamas’ incredible campaign and historic victory get a 56-page tribute in the January issue, featuring the images, thoughts, dreams and perspectives by some of today’s foremost writers and photographers. An extensive timeline which follows Barack from a young child to the present is included, and the first couple’s daughters, Malia, 10, and Sasha, 7, are also profiled, as they will be the youngest residents of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave since Amy Carter.

Michelle Obama Gets Busted!

Created by American artist/sculptor, Daniel Edwards, this afro-centric bust of Michelle Obama was created to draw Michelle's image away from being compared so much to Jackie O. Well, that's the Edwards claims was the inspiration for the bust.

The bust displays a bare chest, and dramtically made over Michelle with a hair piece, which is an afro-pick fashioned in the style of an American Eagle, and the United States flag embedded deep into her skin. I'm sure this is all symbolic as to the patriotism of the Obamas that has been ever so critisized by the Republican party

The piece is titled "Michelle Obama’s Makeover for America”, will go on display at New York’s Leo Kesting Gallery at the beginning of October. I'm sure there are folks out there that have something to say about this but I like it! I kind of wish her chest wasn't so "open"!

Michelle Obama and Rihanna Noted As Best Dressed for 2008

Michelle Obama has never had any qualms about admitting to being a bargain shopper, but that didn't stop the possible First Lady from being named one of People magazine's Best Dressed list for 2008.

Remember when she was a guest on “The View”? Just that one little mention from Michelle noting that she bought her sundress off-the-rack at a chain store started a fashion frenzy for the item.

Along with Michelle on the list, which didn’t rank the stars in any particular order, was Sarah Jessica Parker. Not only is her style sophisticated, but it takes a special kind of dresser to make a flowerpot hat look chic, which Sarah Jessica did at the “Sex and The City” movie premiere in London.

In naming her to their list, People wrote Sarah Jessica “effortlessly mixes high-end and affordable prices,” no doubt referring to her Bitten line, which sells in the economical fashion chain store, Steve & Barry.

Gwyneth Paltrow and her short dresses got her on to People’s list because “she plays up her legs,” according to the mag.

As for Rihanna, it was her stylish hair that helped secure the singer’s spot on the list. She was also praised because she “straddles the line between sweet and street.”

Also named to the best dressed list were supermodel and TV host Heidi Klum, singer Fergie, actress Charlize Theron and actresses Kate Hudson, Eva Mendes and Anne Hathaway.

While People stopped short of naming a Worst Dressed list, they did call out several stars including “American Idol” judge Paula Abdul, actresses Lucy Liu, Sienna Miller and Tilda Swinton, and singers Solange Knowles and Tori Amos for wearing the “Worst Dresses.”

Michelle Obama's glowing and intimate endorsement of her husband, coupled with a sweet shout-out by their 7-year-old daughter Sasha made the kickoff added to the emotional kickoff of the Democratic National Convention in Denver.

The First Lady hopeful recounted her early love with Obama -- and described how, during their marriage, politics hadn't changed her hubby. "He's the same man who drove me and our new baby daughter home from the hospital 10 years ago this summer," Michelle said. "After all that's happened these past 19 months, see, the Barack Obama I know today is the same man I fell in love with 19 years ago."

During Michelle's exchange with the Illinois senator -- who spoke via satellite -- the couple's youngest tot Sasha blurted, "I love you, Daddy," -- stealing the spotlight from her well-known father.

Gayle King Gets First Dibs On Michelle Obama

Gayle King has nabbed a coveted interview with potential first lady Michelle Obama on Monday, August 25, just hours before Michelle takes the stage to appear with her husband and presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama at the Democratic National Convention. Michelle will kick off Gayle's week-long live radio broadcasts from the DNC on "The Gayle King Show" on XM's "Oprah & Friends" channel.
