Kanye West Displays His New Louis Vuitton Shoe!

"TIME TO CRASH YOUR INTERNET SERVER.... HERE'S 1 OF THE 6 DESIGN'S I DID FOR LOUIE... SAMPLED IN WHITE" is the title for this post on Kanye Wests Blog. Remember back in early December when I did a post about Kanye wanting to intern for a fashion designer? I guess he's finally gone and done it. But designing a shoe isn't interning is it? I guess Kanye can do whatever the hell he wants! I actually like this shoe though. Pretty sporty in the Yacht Club of the Month kind of way!

And... The President Elect Barack Obama Chooses...

Just as all of the top tier fashion designers did with the First Lady-Elect Michelle Obama, they have now so done with President-Elect Barack Obama. They are all vieing for the notoriety to say that they dressed the first black President of the United States. Designers such as Kenneth Cole, Sean John, Nautica, and many many more, have all submitted their looks for the next President. They have submitted daytime attire, evening attire, and even specific ties that they think might go well! Above is the design by Reem Acra for the entire Obama family evening look. I must say that it is my favorite!

Korto Momolu and Jerrell Scott Debut Their Collections

Two of my all time favorite contestants from last seasons hit show of Bravo's hit show 'Project Runway,' Korto Momolu, the runner up from the fourth season, and Jerrell Scott, the third runner up, celebrated the launch of their retail collections Wednesday night in LA at Jane Doe John Doe Boutique.

The store is now selling collections from those “Runway” alums alongside pieces from Season 4 winner Leanne Marshall, and fellow contestants Stella “Leatha” Barbarella and Blayne Walsh. AccessHollywood.com caught up with Jerrell and Korto last night to talk about the evening. “For me, it’s my first time selling my collection, and I wanted to bring my very talented friends, like Korto, in with me,” Jerrell told Access.

“I have two stores in Little Rock that carry me, but people e-mail me, and if you want my designs, you can buy them,” Korto said. Her husband and daughter were celebrating with her in LA for the opening. “I’m a hustler,” she continued. “So call me!”

“It’s all about making it accessible though,” Jerrell continued. “We want to get our stuff out there and available to everyone.”

And judging from their opening night turnout, they should be successful. The evening was packed, with guests spilling out of the boutique onto West 3rd Street.

Blackvoices: 20 Most Sylish Brothas

Some of entertainment’s most fashionable fellows got some shine recently when Black Voices unveiled its list of the Top 20 Stylish Brothers. From Jay-Z’s grown man swag to Andre 3000’s southern playalistic charm, the lineup was heavy on eye candy and a celebration of today’s tastemakers.

We caught up with Angela Bronner, Senior Lifestyle Editor for Black Voices.com, who gave us the scoop on the inspiration behind the feature. Be sure to check it out at BlackVoices.com!

How did Black Voices go about selecting names for the “Stylish Brothers” list? Was there any specific criteria considered?<br> The “Stylish Brothers” list was conceived by a male member of the Life and Style team, Denver Louis. We want to cover more men in our Fashion blog, Style Spotter. The criteria was based on the men’s personal style, as well as consistency in terms of being well turned out when out in public. Obviously, not everyone’s personal style jibes with our own tastes but that consistency and just looking fresh according to his personal style is what we were going for. There was some debate amongst the team and some people were added, some deleted. We think we got a well rounded list (young, old, hip-hop, classic) in the end.

What was the inspiration behind this feature?
The inspiration behind this feature was both the need to do more fashion features on men and New York’s Fashion Week.

I, as much as anyone else, can appreciate Andre 3000’s unique style as well, but what was it exactly about his fashion sense that catapulted him to the top of the heap?
Andre 3000’s personal style is what catapulted him to the top. Not only is his style unique (or even weird according to some) but he makes the clothes, they don’t necessarily make him. Personal style at the end of the day is about being true to oneself and being comfortable in the clothes (and the skin) you’re in and Andre 3000 best exemplifies that. We also suspect that Andre 3000 truly LOVES clothing and style and it’s not about getting a stylist to “make” a look but that his look is true and inspired.

Michelle Obama and Rihanna Noted As Best Dressed for 2008

Michelle Obama has never had any qualms about admitting to being a bargain shopper, but that didn't stop the possible First Lady from being named one of People magazine's Best Dressed list for 2008.

Remember when she was a guest on “The View”? Just that one little mention from Michelle noting that she bought her sundress off-the-rack at a chain store started a fashion frenzy for the item.

Along with Michelle on the list, which didn’t rank the stars in any particular order, was Sarah Jessica Parker. Not only is her style sophisticated, but it takes a special kind of dresser to make a flowerpot hat look chic, which Sarah Jessica did at the “Sex and The City” movie premiere in London.

In naming her to their list, People wrote Sarah Jessica “effortlessly mixes high-end and affordable prices,” no doubt referring to her Bitten line, which sells in the economical fashion chain store, Steve & Barry.

Gwyneth Paltrow and her short dresses got her on to People’s list because “she plays up her legs,” according to the mag.

As for Rihanna, it was her stylish hair that helped secure the singer’s spot on the list. She was also praised because she “straddles the line between sweet and street.”

Also named to the best dressed list were supermodel and TV host Heidi Klum, singer Fergie, actress Charlize Theron and actresses Kate Hudson, Eva Mendes and Anne Hathaway.

While People stopped short of naming a Worst Dressed list, they did call out several stars including “American Idol” judge Paula Abdul, actresses Lucy Liu, Sienna Miller and Tilda Swinton, and singers Solange Knowles and Tori Amos for wearing the “Worst Dresses.”

Andre Talley Strikes Again!

*blank stare*... Andre' Leon Talley... Editor at Large for Vogue magazine is soooooooooo... I don't even know a word to describe him other than saying that dudes style is way out! Andre was seen with tennis star Venus Williams at Fashion Week at Bryant Park in NYC sporting his open toed gennie in a bottle velvet shoes and a man bag! Too much too much!!! Just make it stop please!

The Magic Show went down this week in Las Vegas, NV where the Simmons sisters and CEO's of Pastry Shoes Vanessa and Angela previewed their latest line.

Liquid Latex Pants

I was over at Fashionista101.com and her post on the liquid latex pants/leggings that have become so popular caught my eye. It's funny how styles and trends tend to catch on really quick. I think they're actually pretty hot... that's if you know how to wear them right. Like Rihanna's look is really cute and of course they're necessary for someone such as Ciara while performing. If I could get these thick thighs in some and look fab in them, trust and believe, I would!

Da Baddest Chick Has A Clothing Line?

Just like every other rapper out there, Trina is next to follow in the "clothing line" business. Her line is called Pink Diamond Couture. Yeah... whatever. Do we really want to walk around dress like this chick? Uhhh, me no tink so. Either way her line will consist of Jeans, tops, T’s, Velour Sets and jackets all with Trina's signature logo and unique design. Imagine jeans with details such as leather, python and crystals. To add a personal touch to her line the collection comes with a Tattoo that is uniquely Trina’s. No detail is overlooked in the fabric, as well as design.

Yeah, we'll see who's rockin these clothes. I'm sure it will be fierce competition for the House of Doo-On... I mean House of Dereon!

A Keyes brought her A Game to Late Night

Just in case you missed it, Alicia Keys made a guest appearance on the David Letterman Show this past week. Ms. Keys was seen leaving the show giving waiting fans and photographers a glimpse into how fierce she can be. She left sporting a grey Calvin Klein dress and slammin grey/black Sergio Rossi shoes to compliment the dress.
