Lisa Bonet Explains Her Babies Name!!!

We already know chick is hella "off", so the naming of her new baby boy should be of no surprise to anyone.

Lisa and her husband, actor Jason Momoa welcomed a baby boy around the end of December and really mucked this child up for the rest of his life! I'm serious... I know because I got a name that ain't too damn far from his! Anyways, the couple named their son, Nakoa-Wolf Manakauapo Namakaeha Momoa.

Check out their explanation as to why they gave the baby this name given via dear old grandma:
“He was born on the stormiest, rainy night,” Jason’s mother wrote on the proud papa’s official site message board, adding that the weather influenced the lengthy name.

“Nakoa (warrior)… Mana (strength/spirit) Kaua (rain) po (dark)…,” she wrote. “The [first] name was always going to be Nakoa-Wolf.” The name is pronounced Na-Ko-Ah Wolf Mana-Ka-Ooh-Ah-Po Namma-Kay-Ah-Ha Mo-Moa, according to a Hawaiian source that told Access Hollywood. Whatev!

What's In A Name?

FYI people... it's not just blacks who name their children crazy ass names. Case in point, a young girl has been made a ward of court in New Zealand so her name could be changed from 'Talula Does The Hula From Hawaii.'. What the dizzle? No, it's not the girl pictured above, but it don't matter. That name is far worse than the Shamekas, Ta'Tanisha's and Lapassionette's that I have heard in the past. Why would you do this to a child? When I had my daughter, I made sure that I gave her a name that she would be proud of, or at the least, not "embarrassed" about. It's so sad that this little girl had to become a ward of the court just so her name could be changed.

Family Court Judge Rob Murfitt cited a list of unfortunate names that he said were embarrassing or made children seem foolish among their peers. Some names, including Fish and Chips (twins), Yeah Detroit, Stallion, Twisty Poi, Keenan Got Lucy and Sex Fruit, were blocked by registration officials, he said. But others were allowed, including Number 16 Bus Shelter, Midnight Chardonnay, Benson and Hedges (twins) "and tragically, Violence," the judge said.

The names were mentioned in Murfitt's decision on a custody battle over the 9-year-old girl from the North Island town of Hawera, who was so embarrassed at the name her parents had given her - Talula Does The Hula From Hawaii - that she never told her closest friends what it was. She told people her name was "K" because she feared being "mocked and teased," the girl's lawyer, Colleen MacLeod, told the court. "The court is profoundly concerned about the very poor judgment which this child's parents have shown in choosing this name," Murfitt wrote.

"It makes a fool of the child and sets her up with a social disability and handicap, unnecessarily." Murfitt ordered that the court take custody of her until the name could be formally changed, which has since occurred and the custody dispute settled, Family Court Manager Midge Shaw said Thursday. The new name was not made public to protect the girl's privacy. The ruling was handed down in February in the city of New Plymouth on the North Island, but only came to light on Thursday when it was published in the New Zealand Law Reports.

Brian Clarke, the registrar general of Births, Deaths and Marriages, said New Zealand law does not allow names that would cause offense to a reasonable person, that are 100 characters or more long, that include titles or military rank or that include punctuation marks or numerals. He said officials usually talked to parents who proposed unusual names to convince them about the potential for embarrassment.

See we need someone to oversee stuff like this over here. Do we have somebody that works for the state that's responsible for this kind of foolishness. I guess it would go against our Constitutional Rights if we weren't allowed the freedom to name our children in God forsaken thing we wanted to huh? Damn shame!
