Asher Roth Had Food Poisoning

We always hear about how all the celebs are caught out eating at the famous Nobu restaurants around the country and abroad... well, rapper and longtime college student Asher Roth says he won't let a nasty little bout with food poisoning from the restaurant deter him from going back.

The Morrisville, PA rapper canceled an MTV appearance when, Roth says, he became sick from raw red snapper, but adds wild horses couldn’t keep him from the high-end sushi joint. “I’d absolutely go back,” he said at SoBe’s Summer Friday party. “Their stuff is the best.”

T.I. Gets Sick In Prison

Rapper T.I. who is currently serving his one year prison sentence has reportedly gotten sick. Tip is serving the one year sentence for being convicted on gun charges, has been hit with an outbreak of an unknown virus which is spreading through the entire prison.

Officials have temporarily suspended visition at the Federal Forrest City prison because an illneses has hit a number of inmates. Prison officials say they don’t yet know what’s sickened the inmates, but that they don’t suspect swine flu.

Traci Billingsley, a spokesperson for the Federal Bureau of Prisons, recently confirmed the virus outbreak. A number of inmates recently became ill and have been treated at the prison, said Traci Billingsley. The symptoms appear to dissipate within 48 to 72 hours, she said. “Swine flu is not suspected because these all are all gastrointestinal-related,” Billingsley said.

Visits were suspended Friday. They will resume when medical personnel are certain there is no risk of exposure, Billingsley said. The prison in Forrest City is a low-security facility housing male inmates, including rapper T.I., who is serving a yearlong sentence on a weapons charge.

Lauryn Hill Cancels Tour Dates

For all of my fans over in Europe, I have some news for you... Lauryn Hill has canceled her involvement in a European tour. Her management has cited health reasons for the cancellation.

Organizers of the Stockholm Jazz Festival say the eccentric R&B/Hip-Hop star was experiencing unspecified health-related complications that would prevent her from staying on the bill and other dates. Spokesperson Liisa Tolonen told the Associated Press that Hill’s told the Stockholm Jazz Festival late Tuesday that she would not be involved in any capacity.

The dates canceled include Italy, Switzerland, Greece, Sweden, Poland, the Netherlands, Germany, France, and Austria. The tour would have been Hill’s most public appearance in several years.

Will Prince Sport A Wheelchair To His Next Tours Dates?

Nevermind that 80's pop icon Prince is all of 5'3" tall, and that he has been touring more than we've seen Michael Jackson toured or even been seen in the last 10 years, or the fact that he's in so much pain from his hip bothering him that his faith and belief in his religion has him scurrying the in the opposite direction of keeping him from remaining an upwardly mobile human being like the rest of us.

Prince was on the prowl again last night, making an unscheduled appearance at the Apollo Theater’s 75th anniversary celebration to toast Patti LaBelle. But most people weren't talking about him being there... they were talking about the limp that he was seen walking with when he thought folks didn't notice. It's being reported that his hip troubles have gotten so bad that he's now in need of a double hip replacement.

Unfortunately, thanks to his practice as a Jehovah’s Witness, Prince still refuses surgery. Why you ask? Simple: Jehovah's Witness' don’t believe in blood transfusions. “He’s in a lot of pain,” said a source who was backstage with him last night at the Apollo. “He’s popping pain killers and hoping it will all go away.”

But it won’t. Back in 2005 reports surfaced that Prince needed one hip replaced. He declined. Then again in 2007 and 2008 came more reports that he’d finally agreed to “secret surgery.” Now the diminutive R&B star is walking with a diamond-studded stick to keep him upright. It’s the same stick I saw him with two nights ago at a post-Tony Awards bash. I’m sure he’d rather have a Raspberry beret or a little red Corvette, but for now Prince is stuck with the stick.

The question is: if it gets worse, will he go to a wheelchair?

Toni Braxton's Cancer Scare

Poor Toni Braxton. She's had her fair share of health issues and just when she thinks she's doing ok... here comes something else.

This time it was in the form of a tumor. The singer recently had a tumor removed from her breast, she tells Us Weekly. Luckily, it wasn't cancer.

"I was worried about what they would find," she admits. Braxton's doctors found the lump during a routine visit in August—after she had begun training with Alec Mazo for Dancing With the Stars—and she was told she would be fine to continue.

Upon being eliminated from the show, she went to the doctor for a follow up visit and they discovered that the lump had grown and needed to be removed.

"Getting the boot on the show was actually a blessing in disguise for me," she says. "We have a family history. My grandmother on my dad's side died of breast cancer, and I have aunts on both sides that have breast cancer."

While Braxton was sidelined for the DWTS finale at the end of November, the lump turned out to be benign, and now she is a confirmed participant in the upcoming Dancing With The Stars tour. "I was very fortunate," she says. "Cancer knows no race, no creed, no color."

Angie Stone Looks Great!

Props to Angie Stone for looking so good. Despite her failed attempt at losing weight on VH1's Celebrity Fit Club, she has managed to learn to eat better, and exercise whenever possible. Angie also has learned to live healthier to help manage her diabetes issues.

Amy Winehouse Has Emphysema

I decided to put a nice picture up here of Amy Winehouse today. Despite how I feel about her, she doesn't deserve to be shown as a crack addict in every picture published on the net. Anyways, it's being reported today that the U.K. singer has developed emphysema. This report is coming from her father, who has stated that the drug use and cigarette use has caused the disease. Doctors initially thought that she had tuberculosis, but Mitch Winehouse told The Sunday Mirror that that his daughter has emphysema - a chronic, irreversible lung disease, and warned that with her irregular heartbeat, if she doesn't stop doing drugs she'll have to wear an oxygen mask.

Last week, Amy was admitted into a hospital after she fainted at her home, and she hasn't been released since then.

"The doctors have told her if she goes back to smoking drugs, it won't just ruin her voice, it will kill her," Mitch Winehouse said. "There are nodules around the chest and dark marks. She has 70 percent lung capacity. When she's been inactive work-wise then that's when the problems really start," he told The Sunday Mirror. "The doctors have said that medically there isn't any reason why she can't do Glastonbury."

Amy is supposed to perform this week for Nelson Mandelas 90th birthday celebration, but it is yet to be seen if she will.
