Vibe Auctions Of Adidas To Celebrate 15 Yr Anniversary

Vibe magazine and Adidas have gotten together to commemorate the 15 year anniversary of the magazine and to keep the arts alive in the South Bronx which is the birthplace of hip hop.

Adidas will launch a limited-edition shoe line next week in recognition of Vibe magazine’s 15th anniversary. Performers including Cassie, T.I., Estelle, Pepa and Musiq Soulchild have signed the Forum Mid XVibe, which retails for $125.

The shoes are available through a Vibe.com charity auction until Sept. 25. Only 1,500 pairs of the Mid Xvibe will be sold in select nationwide markets.

One hundred percent of proceeds from VIBE's online-only sneaker auction will support THE POINT, an organization dedicated to youth development and cultural and economic revitalization of Hunts Point, Bronx. Specifically, this auction's proceeds will make possible youth development music and radio programs for kids in grades 1-12.

If you miss out on the chance to bid for the shoes online, you can visit adidas Original stores beginning September 25, 2008 for a suggested retail price of $125.

Sneak Of Da Week: Troop

Theeeeeey're baaaaaaack! Sneaker pioneers who made the brand Troop have decided to have a go at it again, after not much success in the past. Not sure how many of you will remember Troops. Back in the late 80's early 90's, Troop was the equivalent to British Knights, Lottos, and Diadoras, all pretty much the pinnacles of the sneaker game. Well, Troop is back. The NYC based company recently showed face again at a recent fashion showcase, and impressed quite a few of the sneaker freaks out there.

As I have mentioned in the past, I always seem to fall in love with the sneaks that are obsur. If you notice, the black pair of sneaks somewhat resemble the S. Carter's that Jay-Z put out.

Sneak Of Da Week: Limited Edition Air Questo AF1s

I know that everyone has heard about these new Nikes that have come out, created by ?uestlove from the Roots. And I, for one, was wondering what was all the hoopla about. Why were the kids lining up around the corner and camping out waiting for these shoes to hit the market? The Nike Air Questo first released in NY on Aug 1st. The Gold Edition is the limited colorway, and 12 lucky people in each city will get the Golden Tickets. All the sneakers will be sealed, so it won’t be any funny business at the releases. The ticket price for this shoe is $175. The shoe also comes emblazoned with a silohuette of ?uestlove on the tongue and the back of the shoe. I love the fact that ?uestlove decided to do a sneak instead of a clothing line like everyone else.

I must admit that I'm not a fan of the colors, but it is it's own shoe. ?uestlove is doing this as a part of the Nike’s 1WORld series that sees Air Force 1’s “created in partnership with global innovators in the fields of sport, music, art & design.”

Sneak of Da Week: Women's Air Jordan Spi'zike

CitySole.com have sent in some great photos of the recently released Spiz'ike for Women. The first of its kind, this limited colorway consists of black and ice blue with dabs of pink. As far as Women colorways go, its on the tougher side with only small lashings of the 'compulsory' pink. This one truly is just for the ladies. A great combination of black suede and patent leather mixed with bright ice blue and the always vibrant pink fire is sure to break necks as the first Womens Spiz'ike.

What do you think ladies? I want to hear your feedback on this one. Maybe a lace flip is in order? Either way don't sleep on these, to pick up a pair hit CitySole.com for a huge range of kicks and some of the best prices you'll find.

Sneak Of Da Week: Retro Style Reebok Freestyle Reign-Bow

Ahhh, the 80's. How fond of that era I was!!! From Parachute pants, to acid washed jeans... I loved them all. Now, the ladies are back to chillin in the oh so stylish Reebok high-tops. But now, they're calling them the "Freestyle Reign-Bow" sneaks! This shoe was an icon in the 80's for women who were up on their fitness game and it's revolutionized the industry and highlighted the womens aerobic dance phase. These shoes are what's up among young girls and the new era of hip hop ladies! I love the shoe and all... but what I'm trying to figure out is why it's running for $126 online? Back in the day, you could easily get this sneak for about $25!

The New Comeback Kid: British Knights

I'm not sure if any of us saw this coming but British Knights, also known as BK's are making a come back. Ohhhhh, how I used to love me some BK's. They were truly an 80's fashion statement, along with Lottos, Diadoras, Filas, and L.A. Gear Boots (for most of us Cali kids). The shoe that's pictured in this post is called the "Purple Wizard Moccasin", and it's sure to be a smash among the new breed of retro styled kids running around. The shoe is only available on the British Knight website and sells for $149.00. Damn, that is far more than the $40 or so bucks that we used to pay back in the day. But I'm excited to see what else is going to make a comeback... As long as it's not parachute pants... as much as I loved mine, I don't ever want to see them again!
