Jordin Sparks Says She Doesn't Regret Her Statement One Bit

If you watched the VMA's the other night then you remember how the whack ass host for the evening, Russell Brand kept harping on the Jonas Brothers and how they wear promise rings to stay abstinent. Well during the show, songstress Jordin Sparks came out to present an award, and then she paused to say, "I just have one thing to say about promise rings. It's not bad to wear a promise ring, because not everybody — guy or girl — wants to be a slut."

That comment was like the "comment heard around the world" type. I applauded her for it. I'm glad she spoke up. People like Russell Brand who make fun of kids, especially, for wanting to save themselves make me sick. That's why our HIV rates are high, and our STD rates are staggering among the youth today.

Jordin Promises No Regrets After her VMA Outburst. Jordin herself wears a promise ring. Sparks said she does feel sorry that her own unscripted statement might have offended some. "I wish I would've worded it differently — that somebody who doesn't wear a promise ring isn't necessarily a slut — but I can't take it back now. It was a split-second thing, and it came out kind of wrong. Still, I don't regret it." YOU GO GIRL!

The 19-year-old also added that she has no hard feelings against Brand, admitting that the two shared a laugh backstage at the show. "I have nothing against him at all," she said.
