Brandon T. Jackson Lands Another Movie Role

The actor-comedian, known for his recent role opposite Ben Stiller and Robert Downey, Jr. in 'Tropic Thunder,' will co-star with Logan Lerman in the adventure-fantasy film directed by Chris Columbus.

The Hollywood Reporter states that the film is about the titular schoolboy (Lerman) whose world is turned upside-down when he discovers that his father is actually the Greek god Poseidon. The story kicks off with Percy becoming the prime suspect when Zeus' master lightning bolt is stolen. The boy has just 10 days to find and return the stolen property to bring peace to the warring gods.

Jackson will play Percy's best friend, Grover, a satyr. Fox 2000 is looking to place a number of big-name thesps in the smaller roles of the gods. Shooting is scheduled to begin in April in Europe.

Jackson's other film credits include 'Roll Bounce' with Bow Wow and 'This Christmas' with Chris Brown and Idris Elba.

Idris Elba Newest Cast Member On NBC's The Office

Okay... I already love NBC's sitcom "The Office", and putting my husband on their makes it even better, even if it isn't going to be a regular full-time role.

Idris Elba will appear in six episodes of the NBC sitcom "The Office" later this season.

NBC made the announcement Thursday afternoon during its portion of the TV Critics Assn. press tour in Los Angeles.

While details are being kept under wraps, NBC did say the actor will play a no-nonsense hire at Dunder Mifflin's corporate office who rankles Scranton branch manager Michael Scott, played by star Steve Carell. I soooooooo can't wait!

Lauren London Joins 90210 Cast

Ms. Lauren London has found a new gig. Yep... right on over there to be the #2 "us" on the CW's 90210. Someone over on the production team for the show gave some exclusive info to YBF.com about Lauren joining the cast here soon. She's already shot two episodes but it hasn't been said if her character, whose name is "Christina", will be a season long recurring role. I'm assuming that she will play the love interest for Tristan Wildes who plays "Dixon". He's the #1 "us" on the show. I'd rather see him with Lauren than going with the flow of the show and dating every pink toe that past his way! I'm just sayin!!!

Queen Latifah Plays Gwen Iffil On SNL

As I speak at this very moment, the VP debate is beginning on the television. But NBC's Saturday Night Live has already gotten the leg up on the whole thing.

Word has it that they'll be doing a skit about the debate and you already know that no one else would fit the bill to play moderator Gwen Iffil other than Queen Latifah.

Even though the debate sketch isn't 100% locked, the long running show has already secured Latifah's services for the evening. I know this is going to be good!

Tisha Campbell-Martin Back On The Small Screen

It's a Martin reunion in the making... well, not quite, but who knows. I'm trying to keep hope alive on that idea because I loved that show.

The real scoop is that Tisha Campbell-Martin will be making a multi-episode appearance on the CW's show Everybody Hates Chris. So it's somewhat of a semi-Martin reunion. She'll be back on the set with her pal Tichina Arnold who plays the mom on that show.

Campbell-Martin will channel Peaches, a sexy, edgy, vibrant ghetto princess who moves back to Bed-Stuy after a stint in prison and strikes up a frenemyship with Arnold's Rochelle.

Sherri Shepherd Stays A View Co-Host

After much speculation about the fate of ABC's The View's newest panelist Sherri Shepherd, ABC has taken a step forward to squash the thoughts of those who are saying that she's the next one to be out. They have already unveiled the daytime show's latest promo picture to promote the upcoming fall season.

Quite a few of the messy tabloids and blogs around the world have been saying for weeks that Barbara Walters was planning to fire the newest of 'The View's' co-hosts Shepherd. But the release of the pic definitely gives no indication of that. The image includes Walters, Shepherd, Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar and Elizabeth Hasselbeck in their first group photo shoot. Last season's images were digitally superimposed to make it look as though they were all together.

The 'National Enquirer' was the originator of the erroneous report that claimed that the HBIC Walters was offended by Shepherd's interview with the African-American Christian women's lifestyle magazine 'Precious Times.' In the magazine, Shepherd shared her perspective on once being Jehovah's Witness, coming to terms with her prior promiscuity and having to defend Christianity on live television. During the interview with 'Precious Times' publisher Marilyn J. White, Shepherd joked: "Oh sometimes I say, 'Lord, Juanita Bynum or Joyce Myers would be so good at this table. They could lay hands on Barbara Walters and get her saved.'" That comment and the her disclosure of multiple abortions created a whirlwind of media coverage on everything from 'Access Hollywood' to Fox News Channel and every blog and gossip column you can imagine. The 41-year-old former 'Less Than Perfect' star, who recently hosted the Daytime Emmy Awards with 'All My Children's' Cameron Mathison, has become an easy target for online blogs and tabloid fodder because of her honesty on 'The View.' From the very beginning of her tenure on the show in September of 2007, the almost-divorced mother of one came under scrutiny after a debate about Christianity with Walters and Goldberg was taken completely out of context and generated an onslaught of Jessica Simpson-like comparisons for Shepherd. "I was so nervous and all I heard was how many triglycerides does it take to make Pluto to when the Robitussin comes. And I was like, 'I don't know.' And you have one of those senior, brain poopy moments. But Elisabeth looked at me and said, 'Sherri, you know the earth is round.' And I was like, 'I know the earth is round,' she explained then. Regardless, ratings for 'The View' are higher than ever because of Shepherd and Goldberg and ABC executives anticipate the show will only get stronger and more exciting as the upcoming presidential election gets closer this fall.

Regina King Set To Comeback In NBC Pilot

Actress Regina King returns to the small screen in a pilot show on NBC called "LAPD," an ensemble drama that follows a group of police officers in Los Angeles.

Regina's last television role was on Fox's hit series "24". On this show, King will play Lydia, a smart, sympathetic detective in the Hollywood division, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Kevin Alejandro and Michael McGrady have also joined the cast. Alejandro ("Shark") will play Nate, a detective who is happily married with three kids and another on the way. McGrady ("Daybreak") will play Sal, a detective who works mainly on gang-related crimes and is obsessed with his family's safety.

Laurence Fishburne Joins CSI

Yes yes ya'll... Furious Styles is back! Well, not exactly in that role, but the man the myth that is the psuedo Furious is coming back to us.

It's been announced that with the departure of Williams Petersen, and the show CSI still going strong, they have now added another powerful actor in Laurence Fishburne.

Fishburne will join the cast of "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" this season. Even with Petersen leaving, the show must go on, and it shall, with Laurence Fishburne heading the cast. CSI is CBS's top rated show currently. The actor, who plays detective Gil Grissom, will exit the show at midseason, with the 10th episode of the upcoming season being his last as a regular cast member. Fishburn will make his debut on the show in the ninth episode of the upcoming season.

Angela Bassett and Courtney Vance Together Again

Yet another that I so adore. Angela Bassett and Courtney Vance. It's just been announced that Courtney Vance will be joining his real life wife Angela on the set of NBC's top rated and about to expire drama, ER. The big wigs at NBC made an excellent move when they hired Angela Bassett to join the cast this season as County General's newest attending. Courtney won't be stepping out of any boundaries because he'll be playing the role of Angela's husband on the show as well. The former Law & Order: CI ADA is on board for a multi-episode arc, and based on what I'm hearing, it's a safe bet that the couple's actual marriage is a lot healthier than their pretend one.

Kim Kardashian Puts On Her Dancing Shoes

I know that some of you have expressed your dislike for my many posts about Kim Kardashian, but I can't help it if this girl stays in the news and keeps herself relevant!!! Sorry!

Moving on... it's being reported that the star of "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" will be the next in line of celebs to put on her Danskins and dancing shoes and step on stage for the next season of ABC's "Dancing With The Stars." But that's not all; It seems that Kims "momager, (the name that everyone so lovingly refer to her as), Kris Jenner, may be the next out of the courgar pool to hop on the DWTS band wagon as well.

The show's final cast will be revealed on Good Morning America sometime in late August.

Nelly Joins CSI: NY

I see this our St. Lunatic is on his grizzy!!! Nelly is landing jobs all over the place. It has officially been confirmed that rapper and occasional actor Nelly is joining CSI: NY for a multi-episode stint. The Grammy winner will play a club owner who serves as a confidential informant to Mac and his team.

"He's a great actor," gushes executive producer Pam Veasey of Nelly, whose only major thespian credit to date is 2005's The Longest Yard. "He really stepped up." I guess that "good good" done got you a lil motivated huh boy!

Sanaa and Nia Take On New Gigs

I am too excited; and if you're a fan of FOX's Family Guy, then you should be too. The spinoff to the hit cartoon Family Guy is The Cleveland Show. Sanaa Lathan and Nia Long have been cast for roles on the show in which the main charachter is Cleveland Brown, who is played by actor Mike Henry, is actually a white guy. I'm too geeked about this. The debut dates have yet to be released but I'll keep ya posted.

Rockmond Dunbar A Drag Queen?

What's Rockmond Dunbar been up to lately? He's been taking his acting career in a totally different direction, damn near a 180 degree direction. The former Prison Break cast member will now have a recurring roll on Showtime's The L Word. He'll play a drag queen with a mad crush on Pam Grier. Really? Yeah, I'll be watching this. Can't be no worse than Wesley Snipes in To Wong Fu.
