Mattel Introduces Roca Wear Barbie Dolls

To celebrate its 10-year anniversary, Rocawear recently showcased their models for their new Barbie collection, teaming up with toy importing giant, Mattel, to produce the assortment of dolls.

The Rocawear clothing line was created by Damon Dash and Jay-Z in 1999, but experienced a drastic change in management when both founders sold their shares. In March of 2007, Jay-Z sold his share of Rocawear to the Iconix Brand Group for a whopping $204 million, but still retained some authority over product development, licensing, and marketing.

The Barbie collection includes four females and one male, all sporting clothes from the Rocawear clothing line. I don't know if I should be insulted or just roll with it... What's your take?

Ciara Helps Rap Up Mag Celebrates 4th Anniversary

When the BET or any awards show for that matter, goes down, there is always a bunch of parties, celebrity charity events, dinners, etc that go on. Last night at the Sunset Tower in West Hollywood, CA, Rap Up magazine celebrated its 4th Anniversary and Summer Issue Release Party with a few friends. Ciara, who is covering the July issue of Rap Up (along with Rick Ross on the flip side) was in attendance, along with Lil Mama (why?), Adriene Bailon, Teairra Mari, Letoya Luckett and a few others.

King Magazine Celebrates It's 50th Issue

Last night several industry personalities hit up the 50th Issue Party for KING magazine. One of the featured models in the issue was none other than Danity Kane's own Dawn Richard; Who I might add was in attendance sans boyfriend Day 26 member Q, but it don't look like she was missing him too much. The mag issues cover girl, Christina Milian, didn’t make an appearance but it doesn't look like she missed out on much anyways!

NFL baller Darrell Revis was there to comfort Dawn in her time of loneliness *wink* They actually don't look too bad together.

Why do I hate every outfit she wears. I don't ever recall her wearing something ultra cute! EVER!

Last night, singer Mariah Carey threw a special birthday party for her husband Nick Cannon in Las Vegas at Pure. I promise I still think this is so choreographed. But then again... why stay this long if it is? I guess it's a stretch to ask MiMi if she'll ever wear something that makes her look her age instead like she's about to go work somebodies corner huh? Why does Nick always look like he's an extremely excited fan whenever they're taking pictures?

Irv Gotti Is A Mama's Boy!

M.I.A. Murder .Inc, CEO and New York native, Irv Gotti loves his mother! On Friday night, Irv threw his a party for at the Tribeca Grand for his mom, Mary "Nee Nee" Lorenzo's 75th birthday.

Top names in the music industry came to pay their respects and show love that night including Jay-Z, Diddy, Ja Rule, L.A. Reid and Lyor Cohen.

"All my mom wanted for her 75th was a party," Gotti said. "She considers all those huge superstars and executives her family, and she was delighted to see all her family there."

Jeezy Get's Out The Vote

In celebration of the release of his new album titled, "The Recession", Atl rapper Young Jeezy has added a voter awareness to the line-up of events to celebrate it's release. This is Jeezy's third solo album which came out yesterdayc(September 2).

In addition to a full day of events in his hometown of Atlanta, including an in-store appearance, concert and star-studded release party, it was announced that Jeezy and his CTE label mates and staff will host a voter registration drive on Thursday (September 4).

The CTE Voter Registration drive will be held from 5pm-8pm at Sean "Diddy" Combs’ Justin’s Restaurant, which is located at 2200 Peachtree Road in the posh Buckhead section of Atlanta.

In addition to encouraging fans and others in the local community to take part in the electoral process, Jeezy, who turns 31 in October, will also join in the process, by registering to vote for the very first time during this year’s presidential election.

In support of The Recession, Def Jam Records and CTE will also host a special Jeezy performance tonight (September 3) on Wednesday at the Tabernacle, bringing home a hectic promotional run which has seen the Def Jam trap star traveling across the country in the last two weeks.

So So Def Weekend Hit With Gun Shots

Celebrities scrambled for the exits early Saturday morning when gunshots rang out at an Atlanta party hosted by Jermaine Dupri and Sean "Diddy" Combs. A security guard suffered minor injuries when his arm was grazed by a bullet but no one else was hurt. "I'm sad this incident happened because it interrupted a beautiful and loving party. But I'm happy none of my people or friends got hurt. And the party continues," Dupri told People. Held at Club Dreams, the bash kicked off Dupri's third annual So So Def Summerfest Weekend, and was attended by Usher, Nelly, Gabrielle Union, Regina King, Larenz Tate and approximately 3,000 others. The festivities turned ugly around 3:30 a.m. when guests reportedly balked at being charged an additional fee by security to enter the VIP section, said DeKalb County police spokesman Marcus Hodge. That's when a male patron pulled out a gun and started firing away. Police emptied the venue but no arrests have been made. A representative for So So Def Summerfest Weekend called the shooting "an isolated incident."
