TQ Is Bringin S.E.X.Y. Back...

TQ has been away from the American touring circuit for a while now. After the release of his independent album Paradise in April 2008, Compton California singer/songwriter TQ, is back in '09 with a collection of new, self-produced songs.

Paradise featured the popular "S.E.X.Y.," which became an instant hit with fans, and has over 50,000 in digital sales worldwide to date. TQ has chosen to re-feature "S.E.X.Y." on the new album of the same name, which is now available at Best Buy and on iTunes.

His new backing company, Gracie Productions, has been an integral part of TQ's indie success, and while he has been touring and recording overseas the past year or so, the Gracie team worked hand-in-hand with EMI Distribution to expand promotions of the Paradise LP.

"After the success of TQ's album Paradise, it was only natural to release a follow-up that is even more powerful," expresses Dorian Washington, President of Gracie Urban. "To me, TQ is the most underrated R&B singer of our generation and S.E.X.Y. is, in my opinion, his best work yet." Additionally, TQ has consistently offered free music via his MySpace page (Myspace.com/TQOfficialSite), and interacts with fans to ensure he is delivering his creative best at all times. The singer is currently in Europe with shows in Germany, Belgium, Sweden and the UK in July, and is steadily working on more new music.

The final tracklist for the new album is as follows:
  • S.E.X.Y
  • Bounce Rock Step
  • Cold
  • Diamond In The Back
  • Dope Man
  • Nobody
  • Girl
  • The Block
  • Can't Get Enough
  • Baby Baby
  • Down

New Ledisi Album Due In August

How excited are we to find out that Ledisi has a new album coming our way this August? Very! Her stellar Christmas album was just enough to tide us over last year after we wore out 2007's Lost & Found, but it's kinda hard to explain listening to her yuletide songs in the middle of June.

But come August 18th, we'll have her new album, the provocatively titled Turn Me Loose, in our hands and anticipation for some new music from your favorite singer's favorite singer is ridiculously high. Producers on the album include an impressive array of hitmakers such as Raphael Saadiq, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, Carvin & Ivan, Chucky Thompson and Rex Rideout. The first single has yet to surface, but keep it locked right here because we wouldn't be SoulBounce if we didn't post some new Soul from this sista when it comes available.

Fabolous' Album Pushed Back

Damn 'Loso... seems he's got more tricks in his latest goodie bag than ever before.

Although Fabolous' next album "Losos Way” has been pushed back yet again... this time from June 30th to some time in July, that still didn't stop him from going forward with keeping his word by bringing the fans the dvd that was originally meant to accompany the next LP.

No worries, this is right up Fab's alley. "It’s good cuz now the movie can come wit the CD,” that's what Fab posted on his twitter. “Loso’s Way” will be Fabolous’ fifth solo album and will feature guest appearances from Jay-Z, Jeremih, Keri Hilson, The-Dream, Red Café, Ryan Leslie, Ne-Yo, Trey Songz, and Marsha Ambrosius. Producer for the album include The Alchemist, J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, Sean C & LV, The Runners, Tricky Stewart, DJ Khalil and Jermaine Dupri. As Fabolous mentioned above, a 30 minute film will apparently be included with the album.

He's not a happy camper in other areas when it comes to the dealings of his album. Seems there's a leak in the plans. Somebody from J.D.'s camp has been leaking Fabs tracks on the net. This is what Fab had to say via his twitter last night about the mysterious leak:

Fabolous - What the f***?? I'm hearing someone in JD's camp is leaking my songs!! "Aint nothin So So, i thought i knew JD well ?? "

De La Soul Is Back!

For those of you who don't know me personally, I will tell you who I am... I AM HIP HOP!!! I love REAL hip hop! Not this rap crap that is played on the radio every 5 minutes. But music that I can get a meaning out of, or that I can really dance to... well that was back when dances had decent names and not this Stanky Leg mess!... Anyways... one of my all time fav hip hop groups are back in the lab prepping their next album.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, De La Soul's Posdnuos discussed the trio's next album and led on that we will be hearing music on the album from Chuck D and Flavor Flav on a track called "We Are (For the People)."

Pos also says that things are working our great on this album, which he also says is much better than their 2004 album "The Grind Date." Pos says, "To me, quite honestly, it sounds better than the last album."De La Soul's 10-track Nike Running mix 'Are You In' came out last month. Check it out <---here.

Al B. Sure Is Hummin Cummin At'Cha!!!

Well Al. B. damned!!! (corny... I know). The king of 80's R&B drop them drawls music is back and In Full Effect <---If you're a real fan, you caught that.

I had heard for a while now that Al B. Sure was back in the studio pumpin out the tracks, but hadn't anything until this latest single. The single is titled "I Love It (Papi Aye Aye Aye)." Despite the long ass title, the song is Al B. at his best.

His voice has matured quite a bit as well. Nice mellow musical arrangement to accompany his smooth tone! Nice way to come back on the scene Al! We missed you! Check out the single and the the album sampler <---here.

The new album titled Honey, I'm Home drops June 23rd.

Day 26 Album Cover

It's finally here for all of you Day 26 fans. The album cover to the quartets sophomore album, "Forever In A Day". The album is set to be released April 14th via Bad Boy Recores/Atlantic.

I've been watching their MTV reality show Making The Band lately and I really can't wait for the album because it sounds like they are definitely bringing the heat on this one... but I digress that the album cover doesn't send goose bumps down my spine. It's too bland... there's no umph to it! LOL!!! Whatever Diddy... this is your fault bro! Doesn't it look like they just set up a digital camera on a tripod and set the timer?

Day 26 Prepping Sophmore CD

According to Day-26.com, Bad Boy collective Day26's sophomore effort is titled 'Forever In A Day' and will be released on April 14th. The set will be preceded by confirmed lead single 'Put It On Her', which you can listen to above.

Those of you who have been keeping up with the latest season of Making The Band 4 will have seen the guys express their desire for a more uptempo sound this go round - something they've achieved with this gritty, club banger. Great track.

Tidbit: Diddy and Yung Joc are supposedly to feature on the final version of the track.

Lil Wayne Coming Out With All Rock Album?

These rappers are killin me with this crossover crap! Stick to what you're good at. I guess when you've got a few milli in the bank, you can take a break from the norm and just dick around with your livelihood huh? I guess so according to Lil Wayne's next project. Rapper Drake revealed recently that Lil Wayne's latest project will be a rock album. "Wayne's coming out with a new album, it's a rock album," said Drake in an interview with MuchMusic.com. "A complete rock album. I have a song on there."

The rapper likened the project to Kanye West's latest project. "It’s something different in just that whole 808s and Heartbreaks, just throwing individuals off." Yeaaaaaaah... I won't be rushing to Best Buy to cop that one... EVER!

The Dream Set To Release Sophomore Album

Singer/songwriter, The-Dream is preparing to release his sophomore album Love vs. Money in February 2009. I have received confirmation of the exact date of the release.

The songwriter who wrote Beyonce's #1 smash hit, “Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It”), will take over the radio waves once again with his second album due February 17, 09. The follow-up to 2007’s Love/Hate features the new single “Rockin’ That Shit” (or “Rockin’ That Thang” for radio). Listen here.

The “Radio Killa’s” first album was one of the most slept on records of 2007/2008, so I most defintely have high expectations for Love vs. Money.

Common's CD Will Go For 99 Cents???

You talk about a freakin recession hittin brotha's and sista's hard... well you ain't heard the half of it. Common [click to read] was recently speaking in North Carolina. While there, he talked about his forthcoming album "Universal Mind Control [UMC]".

"I’m really excited about it and for me as long as I’ve been making music I always wanted to challenge myself. This album is a lot of free music, a lot of feel good music. I didn’t overthink the subject matters and made music you can dance too, ride out too, and have fun too. I wanted to give people something to smile about, enjoy, and let loose."

As we all know that damn near every artist has been vieing for the last spots for 4th quarter sales and releases, Common explained his own push-back.

"I originally was starting this album as an EP which was like a six song collection of songs. It was called Invincible Summer and I wanted to bring it out during the summertime. I did this film Terminator Salvation and I couldn’t finish the album in period I wanted to. I said, 'Man Universal Mind Control is the perfect title for the sound of the music. UMC fits the theme of what the album is about. That sounds like something from back in the days to something futuristic. Check me out on the website ThinkCommon.com, y'all can get the whole album for 99 cents the day the album is released, y'all can't beat that, my music is priceless."

Jay Z Says No Blueprint 3 For You Suckas...

According to the Jigga Man himself... there will be no Blueprint 3... at least not in 2008. So all those dreams of rockin Jay-Z by Christmas day... you can cancel.

Despite speculation that Jay-Z would release The Blueprint 3 by the end of 2008, it now looks as though Jay has scrapped those plans. After dropping three new tracks, “Jockin’ Jay-Z,” “Swagger Like Us,” and “History,” all this year, rumors mounted that Hov would be releasing the much anticipated BP 3 by December.

“I never said that. I don’t know where that comes from,” Jay-Z told Angie Martinez on Hot 97 last week. Kanye West furthered the claim to MTV News. “He wanted to do a few more joints, so he kinda pushed it back. Now we’re gonna go in and just work on some more records.” So there you have it folks, straight from the camels mouth!
