They Said It... You Read It~ Moniques Husband Talks About Their "Open Marriage"

For as long as we've known that they have been a couple, comediene Mo'Nique and her husband Sidney Hicks have always let it be known that they have an open marriage.

Many of us, myself included, always wonder what is the purpose of being married if you're going to just allow each other to sleep around or date other people? Well Sidney sort of breaks it down in Jet magazine as to how his an Mo'Niques situation works out and why.

"We're saying that if by some chance that you hear scandal and you hear that Mo'Nique slept with another man, it won't be a need for a press conference because I'm going to say, 'Why are y'all tripping off that? Because that's what she did. Did she sleep with that man in you?' That's not a deal breaker for myself ... We are logical enough to understand that things like this do happen."

Bobby Brown and Girlfriend Deliver A Boy!

Mr. Bobby Barisford Brown is a fifth time father. He and his girlfriend Alicia Etheridge welcomed a baby boy late Saturday night. Bobby made the announcement at a Vegas nightclub where he jumped his happy ass on stage and took over the mic:

“I just had a little baby boy! His name is Cassius… he was born four days ago.”

Ohhhh that Bobby! These are the times when we really love you dude! This is Bobby's fifth child and his girlfriends first!

Is my ex-husband Mekhi Phifer getting a little pudgy in the face and around the middle? I'm just sayin! Anyways, Mekhi and his baby mama (fiance') Oni, were spotted out and about yesterday in L.A.

Who Is Star Jones' Mystery Dude?

Star Jones has bounced back pretty fast since her divorce from pretty boy Al Reynolds. Her new beau? His name is Herb Wilson and he's an executive chef at the Soho Grand and the Tribeca Grand hotels in NYC.

Star and her new boo were seen Tuesday at the 2008 U.S. Open in Queens, New York City smoochin the day away.

The couple have been friends for a while, but just recently made the turn to a more romantic relationship. Sources close to Star say, “He’s the anti-thesis of Al! He’s successful, intelligent, and doesn’t want to be in the public eye.”

I'm happy for Star. Hopefully this one is real and not just superficial inside and out like ol' boy.

Chris Brown And Rihanna Possibly Shacking Up

Just my own opinion... because I've seen and done it all... moving in together at a very young age just isn't the answer!

Although Rihanna and Chris Brown continue to play coy about their romance, the two could be ready to take things to the next level by shacking up together!

According to an insider, Rihanna , has been searching for a condo in the Los Angeles area since early July to share with Chris and has checked out units in Beverly Hills' Sierra Tower. Rihanna's so serious about finding them a new home that she has new listings e-mailed to her even when she's out of town.

"She and Chris want to live together," says the insider. "They play their music loud though, so they want a condo that's soundproof." Yeaaaaaaa, we'll see how this works out!

When Is It Too Soon To Move In Together?

Traditionally speaking, it's been somewhat taboo for couples who are only dating to move in with one another. Moving in together is a major issue with most couples once the relationship begins to get serious. It's more of a big deal with men than it is with women. Men begin to wonder what things will change for him; Will he have to come home at a certain time? Will he be able to hang with the fellas like normal? How much cleaning will he actually have to do himself... you know, the typical male stress factors. For most couples, the choice of whether to move in with one another is already decided for them. That is, if they have certain religious or cultural beliefs. But nine times out of ten, the reasons for moving in together aren't for the right reasons.

You've heard the saying, "Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free" right? I'm sure you have. So if you're just dating and haven't taken the next step in the relationship such as engagement or marriage, why do you need to move in together? Some couples do it because they practically spend every free moment they have together already. Others do it for economic reasons. And with the way the economy is going right now, I wouldn't doubt it if we seen an enflux of cohabitation going on. For couples who may be engaged, they may feel that prolonging the evitable is a waste of time, so they go ahead before the big wedding day and move in together, only to find out that they can't stand being in the same household, let along same room for more than a day together.

I think I'm straddling this fence on this subject. On one hand, it makes sense to move in together before you're married because it let's you really get a good look at the person who you're dealing with. You pretty much get to know all of their quirky habits and flaws. When that day comes and you get super serious in the relationship, you can look back and really think about everything that you've seen in the last few months, years, etc... and ask yourself, "do I really want to spend the rest of my life with this person?" If you answer yes, then I think moving in was just what you're relationship needed to convince you that he/she was the one for you. Now, on the other hand, if you and your mate move in together and you start arguing every 5 minutes, and you can't stand to hear the key unlock the door when they come home, then no, moving in together was a bad decision. Maybe it means that you aren't meant to be together, or it just might be that the timing is off. There are a number of things that could play into this.

But when is it too soon to move in together? If you just met the guy/girl a few weeks earlier and already you have a key to his/her apartment and he/she wants you to move in with them, you may want to step back a little bit and think things through. Sure, some couples meet, get married in a months and live long and happy lives, but these cases are very rare and far and few in between. If you are having second thoughts about moving in so quickly, always go with your first mind. Listen to your gut and wait a little bit until the initial dating has waned a bit and things have started to settle. At that point you can decide whether or not moving in together is a good idea. If at any point you feel that moving in together is not a good idea, then you might be right!

Don Cornelius With His New Boo

Not exactly sure who she is and her exact age, but you know she's gotta at least be in her thirty's, maybe early fourties. What I don't get is why do all of these old school black celebrities get with white women. No offense to my white readers. I firmly believe that you can't help who you fall for, but this equation is muttled a bit. You have highly admired and adored old school brotha's like Quincy Jones, Lou Rawls, James Brown, James Earl Jones, and many many others, who were/are married to white women. I'm just stating this because there are tons of beautiful and ageless black women out there who are husbandless. I'm wondering is it because at a later stage in life, black women may get a bit bitter towards black men. Or could it be that black men at a later age become more needy? Who knows.

Michael Strahan Ain't Scared Of Eddie Murphy!

Eddie Murphys ex-wife, Nicole Murphy has been kicking it extra hard with former NY Giants Michael Strahan for over a year and it seems to be going pretty good according to Mike. It's going so good that the two time divorcee' says he would get married again... and possibly to Nicole.

Micheal is 36, 255 lbs and 6'5"and holds the NFL's record for most sacks in a single season. Eddie Murphy on the other hand is 40, about 150-160 lbs, and about 5'9". In regards to how he feels about possibly marrying Nicole, Michael told In Touch Magazine, “If I was someone who was intimidated by Eddie,” he says, “then yeah, it would be hard.” So basically he's sayin "Eddie, you can step to me if you want to... but you and I both know how this will end!" Funny stuff!!!

Janet and JD R Ready To Go Half On A Baby!

Well now I've heard it all! Janet Jackson and her troll of a boyfriend Jermaine Dupri are ready to have a baby... so he says. People Magazine caught up with JD Sunday at a dinner party hosted by New Era and Belvedere Vodka at West Hollywood's STK restaurant, and JD assured them that "soon, like right after her tour". Janet is 42 and JD is 35. Jermaine has a daughter from a previous relationship, but is very excited about starting a family with Janet, who is set to go on tour this fall.

Jermaine is so excited that he doesn't care if it's a boy or a girl. "It really doesn't matter," he explained at the event honoring rapper Nelly. "Janet would be a great mom. She was around so many brothers and sisters all her life, so she's got to know what that is like. And her mom is a great mother." Uhh, fyi JD, just because you had a trillion brothers and sisters doesn't mean you'll be a great mom... I'm just sayin!

Jen and John Make Their First Public Appearance

I actually like these two together. I like them way more than I liked her and that crazy ass Vince Vaughn... that right there was just a bit strange, even for Hollywood. Jen and John made their first public appearance together last night to help Jen's bff Courtney Cox-Arquette and husband David Arquette, celebrate their 9th wedding anniversary at a humanitarian event at popular L.A. steakhouse STK.

Recently, John talked about his relationship with Jen and put it quite matter of factly "This is not a scandal, this is not an issue, this is not a problem, this needs no spin control. This is me living my life." Go 'head John. I am so not mad at you. That's what more actors/actress' need to say in regards to their lives. They're human too and can date whomever they damn well please!

There is a bit of buzz in the streets that Fox Boogie and ya boy Ricky Ross are possibly the new couple of the month. Sources say that during DJ Khaled's video shoot, the two were looking extra cuddly together. We'll see. I just can't see it, but I've seen stranger things.

So no more hiding their love. Chris Brown and Rhihanna are excited about their relationship and want the whole world to know. Chris was seen purchasing a diamond-encrusted, 18K rose gold Santos watch from Cartier worth $30,350, according to a friend. The friend also said that Chris is extremely overjoyed that he and Rhi Rhi no longer have to hide their relationship.

Let the rumors begin! It's being reported that Kanye is definitely over Alexis. Apparently, Kanyeezy and Selita Ebanks, Victoria's Secret model and Nick Cannon's ex, were spotted looking extra comfy with one another at a favorite NY hotspot. Although I'm a bit confused because just last month, Selita was dating NY Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora, and that love affair had started almost immediately after her and Nick split. Hmmm... this should be interesting.

From the looks of things, Chris Brown and Rihanna have gone against the grain and decided to make their love affair public. Nothing wrong with that. They were sitting together and canoodling at the MTV Movie Awards this weekend with no qualms. Yukkin it up with Paris and Benji while sharing text messages amongst one another. Gotta love young love! Any bets on how long it will last? Will it be another Ciara and Bow-Wow situation? I hope not. These two actually go well together. But you have to wonder how long will it be before the nostalgia of spending damn near every waking moment together wear off. Ya'll know it's comin too!

Ush and Meka Boo Still Goin Strong

Earlier this week, I reported that Usher and Meka-Boo were on splitcity status. According to Ush's Manager, Bennie Medina, the reports are indeed untrue. Bennie says that Usher and Tameka are on their way to Europe next week and everything is 100% still on and poppin. Usher was on The Ellen Degeneres Show earlier in the week and stated to Ellen and the whole world that nothing is more important to him than his 5 month old son Usher IV and his wife. Yeah, well I'm still holding on to my theory of this all being pushed out there by the PR reps so that the used-to-be teen sensation can post huge sales on his upcoming cd. We'll see how all this hoopla plays out.

Ray J Talks Proposal With Essence Mag

As much as I can't stand wack ass Ray J, it seems like he's finally trying to grow up. He recently talked with Essence Magazine about his music, growing up and a possible proposal to singer Whitney Houston, who I might add is 18 yrs his senior. Damn... talk about May December romance! In the interview, Ray J is questioned about his supposedly proposing to Whitney over the phone???? Is that how it's done now? How special can this really be if it's over the phone? I'm just sayin! He says that he did not propose over the phone, but he did have this to say...

"I respect all the young men who are getting married and taking a stand to be faithful and having a good woman in their life who supports them. That’s a good, good look for young men. I congratulate all the young men with the older women who are helping these young men to grow and the young men for keeping the excitement in a beautiful woman’s life. Star Sightings: Fanny and Dro

Why do I like them together? I love Fantasia and Young Dro as a couple. They actually compliment each other. He's got that preppy thug thing going on and she's just straight hood. But I love em to death. They were both out last night at the American Idol finale where David Cook a bartender, took home the winning spot as the new idol.

Bey Finally Comes Clean... Well, Not Really!

She's finally done it! She's finally fessed up to the blessed union that she entered into with Sean "Jay-Z" Carter. She did it in her own "My daddy told me what to say" sort of way. According to EntertainmentWise the singer/actress states:

"I won't deny it (the wedding). I just don't talk about it." that she "won't deny it." “We've never talked about us and it's kind of protected our relationship. I think it's kept us out of tabloid drama."A lot of actresses that have had successful relationship don't talk about them, so neither do I."

So all of this secrecy has kept folks from talking about you being pregnant too? I mean, you were seen out at a party and you were sipping on water all night. At the Kanye West after spot, what was Bey doing... sipping on some more water. So all this secrecy helps to curb people from poking into your lives? Really? Seems to me that your theory has a few holes in it sweetie. You may want to consult with Michelle... nobody EVER talks about her life. She may hold those valuable secrets that you need.

K.G. and The Wifey

I didn't know K.G. was married. How in the world did I miss that when I love him so much? Dang, guess I can flush those dreams down the toilet. Either way, Kevin's wife's name is Brandi Padilla-Garnett. The happy couple also now have a baby as of April 18th, it's a baby girl. Congrats to them! Doesn't K.G.'s wife look a little like Lauren London?
