It's Monday!!!!

Good morning folks! It's Monday... and you're week is just beginning. Yippeeeeee! I know I know... why am I so freakin cheerful today??? I don't know. I guess it's because I'm blessed by God to see another day! I think that's enough reason don't you? Regardless of what we're going through, we're still here. We still have the ability to read this message. The ability to thank God for all of his many blessings now and for those to come. No matter what you're going through, always remember that there is someone out there who is in worse shape than you. That's not to say that we're happy that someone is worse off than we are, but just to say that we need to stop complaining about our circumstances and be thankful that God has blessed us with a sound mind and equipped us with the spirit to bring ourselves out of our turmoil. When you feel that all hope is lost, look to God for the answers. He's got it... but it's up to you to recognize it. I don't know if any of you have ever heard the story about the man who was caught in the flood and several people came by to save him, and he turned them all away saying that God was going to save him, and ended up drowning. When he got to heaven, he asked God why didn't he save him. God's reply was, "I sent you a boat, a helicopter, and a cargo ship... what more did you want me to do?" Makes sense right? He gives us the tools that we need to survive... but we can't be foolish enough to think that he's going to do EVERYTHING for us! You have to meet him halfway!

So the next time you're feeling helpless, sit down, and think about your abilities and all that God has equipped you with!

To Wing Or Not To Wing... That Is The Ultimate Question!

I was just over at my boy TCJ Fresh's spot, and he recently did a post on some of the crazy names that you see at some wing spots throughout the city. I must agree with him, you can find some crazy ass names for different wings spots and sometimes you notice that they're all trying so hard not to infringe on other wing spot names.

It's kind of like the owners are thinking, "How do we distinguish ourselves from all of the gazillions of other wing joints in our city?"... which is a damn good question. Like, the names almost become redundant if you don't throw a lil pazazz on it. I've seen names like 'Wingaling', 'Wings Over Miami', "Just Wing It', or 'Got Wings?'. It's almost funny how everyone tries to put their own spin on something that is the same as the next wing spot.

Still, I haven't found that one spot here in Atlanta that just stands out on wings. It's not hard to find in Cali, where I'm from, but here in Atlanta, it seems like everybody is cooking with the same recipe. If you live here in Atlanta, or anywhere in the U.S. or wherever... I want to hear about your favorite wing joints!

Random Rant: True Friends

I just recently read something that truly touched me deep down. It read, "Good friends are God’s way of apologizing to us for our families." I haven't agreed more with a statement such as that in a long time. It is so true. I have friends that have been there for me more than my family has ever been. Of course I love my family. No one, or nothing, can replace them. No matter how much they tick me off, or how much they talk about me behind my back, I still love them.

My friends are my life support. When I'm down, I call them. When I need to bitch and complain, I call them. When I need to party and let loose... sho'nuff, I call them. My best friend and I, have been friends for almost 18 years and I love her as if she were my own flesh and blood sister. Of course, like siblings, we argue and fight and go days, weeks, months, and I hate to admit it, I think we even went a year or two without speaking once. But I will NEVER let that happen again. We need our friends.

Another saying I've heard is "Blood is thicker than water; But you need water to survive". Another true statement. A lot of times, we go through friendships and only look at it them for what they are to us on the outside. We forget about how we process these relationships internally. We see friendships as a safe haven from our real families. When we're done wrong by family, we turn to our friends. True friendship requires certain accountability factors. Real friends encourage one another and forgive one another where there has been an offense. Genuine friendship supports during times of struggle. Friends are dependable. In true friendship, unconditional love develops. We love our friends no matter what and we always want the best for our friends.

I just want to say to all of my friends that read my blog... I love you guys. The friendships that I share with you all have helped shape and mold me into the woman that I am today and I truly take my hat off too you!

My Random Rant!!!!!!

No pictures, no catchy sayings, no NOTHING! Just me about to have a bitch fit. This justice system is really really screwed up. We are now in a day and age when we have all the technology in the world but still can not see the speck on a blank canvas when it's right there right in front of your damn face. Is it because your pockets are being lined? Or is it because the peers that hold the cards were a mass majority and the practice of being blind to the fact is common place for the mass majority? I can't stand it! You have things such as this, where the hammer needs to be slammed down, but the room falls silent. Then on the other hand, you have the same canvas, just a different artist who is wide awake to the flaws of the painting and he pays the price for noticing the obvious. I don't get it!!!! I just don't get it. I am now starting to believe more and more that men rule this world! Not just because they make most of the money, but because they swing the big dick and it damn near blows everyone away! Fuck that! Justice needs to be served! And it needs to be served right now!
