Daz Dillinger Disses J.D. & Suge

Dogg Pound member Daz Dillinger has recorded a diss track for Dillinger & Makaveli II (The Tribute Album) dissing Jermaine Durpi, Suge Knight and Alan Grumblatt.

The song, which is titled "Fuck You Roll Call - JD, Suge Knight & Alan Grumblatt," appears on the street album, which was released in celebration of Tupac's birthday which was yesterday. Dillinger's history with the three label heads - Dupri the founder of So So Def, Knight a co-founder of Death Row Records, and Grumblatt president of E1 (formerly Koch) Records - is well-documented, as he had albums releases on all three labels.

The track is literally a roll call, with Dillinger saying,

"I want to say a big 'fuck you' to Jermaine Dupri, Suge Knight, any other motherfuckers I've had business quarrels with...Alan Grumblatt from Koch, fat fucker."

Dillinger & Makaveli II is a group project by Daz and DJ Nik Bean, consisting of new raps over a collection of beats Tupac previously used.

Jagged Edge Not Happy With J.D.

Word around the A is that the boys who Jermaine Dupri once hailed the future of R&B, Jagged Edge, are not too happy with him or what's going on with their careers. One member in particular, namely Kyle (pointed out). The latest drama is that the J.E. boys are calling J.D. everything but a child of God. They're accusing him of being a crook, a thief, and a liar. Kyle is upset with the fact that the group isn't getting any pub at all, and that they're not doing anything... AT ALL! For some strange reason, dude is trying to go solo and do his own thing. Ummm... I don't ever recall this dude even leading a song in the Jagged Edge days. Hell... can he sing? You know those recording machines do wonders for these groups who just "look good" but lack any talent!

Kyle holds Jermaine at fault for the group not having any success lately. Again... ummm... can ya'll get signed to a label before you go pointing out why you haven't done jack squat here lately. Hell, Brandon and Brian's parents own a night club in Decatur... go perform there and charge folks. You better do something and stop blaming other people.

Jermaine Dupri Sues Popular ATL Hot Spot

Island Def Jam executive Jermaine Dupri has launched a big legal battle against a popular nightclub and a promoter here in his hometown of Atlanta over the unauthorized use of his name, court documents show.

The multi-platinum Grammy Award winner filed suit on Tuesday (December 9) against popular nightclub Pure Atlanta and one of the individuals behind the club’s weekly Industry Thursdays event. Two days prior to the November 20 installment of Industry Thursdays, JD’s manager Nick Leo received a request from the defendants Elite Entertainment Group, LLC and its registered agent Binyam Yayine asking that the entertainer make an appearance at the club on that particular night.

Leo declined, explaining that JD would be out of the country, the lawsuit alleges.

Despite that information, Pure Atlanta proceeded to promote an "All Black Affair" to be hosted by Jermaine Dupri on November 20 too (I remember those ads being aired on V-103). The event was advertised through the use of physically distributed flyers and various internet postings and radio ads using Dupri’s name and likeness, which his lawyers contend was done "to attract attendance and, on information and belief, paid sponsor or sponsors beneficial to Defendants."

The lawsuit goes on to say that upon becoming aware of these promotional efforts, JD’s manager contacted the defendants asking that they immediately cease using his name and image in connection with the event. The event took place without incident on November 20, with the club continuing to promote the event as "hosted by Jermaine Dupri."

Attorney’s for Dupri maintain that through their actions the defendants were in violation of the performer’s right of publicity, unfair competition, false advertising and unfair and deceptive trade practices under the federal Lanham Trademark Act. They are also accused of violating the Georgia Uniform Deceptive Trade Practices Act and Georgia common law. As a result, Dupri is seeking a permanent injunction preventing the misappropriation of his name, image and likeness by Elite Entertainment’s directors, officers, agents, servants, employees and all those acting in concert with the company. He has also asked the court to render a judgment against the defendants for "all profits received from their unauthorized us of Dupri’s name and image, including false designations of origin and false descriptions and representations of endorsement, approval, and/or sponsorship by Dupri." He is also seeking punitive damages for each of the five perceived violations, though a specific dollar amount was not requested.

J.D. is also asking that the defendants pay for his legal fees in this situation. I ain't mad J.D.... get yo' money boi!

Is Janet Jackson Really Pregnant?

Is she or isn't she? I want to know. Maybe I need to call my connect real quick and find out. Hold on folks...

Ok... so I spoke to my really reliable source and they stated to me that she is but... it wasn't supposed to come out like this, which is why Jermaine Dupri went on the record with Us Weekly to say that Janet IS NOT pregnant... but why go through all of that if eventually we'll find out that she was and is?

Janet Jackson has reportedly been telling friends “Yes, I’m pregnant”, according to the latest issue of Life & Style magazine. Here are the captions from the cover: “Her dream’s finally coming true, but Janet’s scared about becoming a mom at 42. She’s overjoyed, but will a baby stop the fighting between her and boyfriend Jermaine Dupri?”

So what's your opinion on this? Or ... do ya'll even give a damn? LOL!!!

JD... You Got Some "Splaining To Do!

Jermaine Dupri would definitely be on the "do I really want to be with you anymore" list right about now if he were my man.was our boyfriend.

First you put together this crappy album for me, and I no longer have a label home, then you throw up in my lap, and to top -ish off, I get sick and hospitalized and you don't come see me??? Oh heeeeeell naw!

While Janet was layed up in the hospital last night, Jermaine was seen out partying. He was spotted at Patrón's Music in Motion Tour Finale at Marquee nightclub in NYC where T.I. was performing. Not only did he stay for T.I.'s performance at 12:30 a.m., but he stuck around while DJ Berrie spun music late into the night.

"He was definitely having fun with his boys," says an onlooker. "He was one of the last people to leave the event."

Ok... giving him the benefit of the doubt, maybe Janet did talk to him, but reassured him that she was ok and that there was no need to come see her! Hmmm??? Maybe? Ya'll can believe that -ish if you want to!

Jermaine Dupri Is A Lightweight Drinker!

So JERMAINE Dupri is a little light in the ass huh? Meaning, he can't handle his liquor!!! It's been reported that he had a little too much of a good time celebrating his 36th birthday last week. The other night, Dupri and his squeeze, Janet Jackson, went to Tenjune, where, spies say, they shared bottles of Jay-Z's Ace of Spades Champagne and Patrón tequila with Ne-Yo, Busta Rhymes and Ice-T - until Dupri "vomited in Janet's lap. Ms. Jackson bolted out of the scene and sped off in her chauffeured Maybach." A rep for Jackson and Dupri didn't return calls. A rep for Tenjune declined to comment. Meanwhile, we hear Dupri is under some stress at work. The head of urban music for Island/Def Jam put out his lady's last album, "Discipline," which flopped. Our insider said, "[IDJ head] L.A. Reid had wanted to make changes to the album, make it fresher with some newer artists added in, but Janet said no - and Jermaine backed her up. He looks silly right now."

Jermaine Dupri Sued For Defamation

So So Def mogul Jermaine Dupri is facing a defamation lawsuit over a private phone call included on Daz Dillinger’s 2006 album So So Gangsta.

The lawsuit, filed by a woman named Aika Kendrick, alleges that Daz and Dupri recorded a personal phone conversation which they then used as a backdrop for the song “The One,” which features Jagged Edge and details the difficulty of leaving an emotionally abusive relationship.

The initially civil June 2006 conversation culminates with Daz launching into a tirade of insults and obscenities at Kendrick before terminating the call.

Once made aware the call was recorded, Kendrick claims to have sent a cease-and-desist order to Dupri’s So So Def label which was subsequently ignored.

According to Kendrick, the call’s release to the public has made her “the subject of embarrassment, humiliation, and degradation.”

Due to this, Aika Kendrick is seeking $250,000 in damages on the grounds of negligence, copyright infringement, defamation, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Also named in the suit are Daz Dillinger, real name Delmar Arnaud, and Virgin Records.

So So Gangsta was Daz’s eighth solo and only So So Def album.

To date, it has sold over 150,000 copies.

At press time, Jermaine Dupri and Daz could not be reached for comment.

Jermaine Dupri Closes Cafe Dupri Unexpectedly

So So Def CEO and Hip-Hop mogul Jermaine Dupri closed the doors to his restaurant, Café Dupri, an eatery that he recently opened in the Buckhead section of Atlanta.

The popular eatery, which offered ahealth conscious menu, closed due to the ever ailing U.S economy, Dupri stated. He also says that because of the economy the business venture waas prevented from taking off the ground.

“The economy has changed dramatically and people just aren’t eating out as much anymore,” Dupri told AllHipHop.com. “People are cutting back everywhere and a lot of companies, including Café Dupri, are feeling the affect. For the past two months business at the Café has been down and if the business isn’t making money, I feel its a smart move to shut it down. Bottom line: if it doesn't make money, it doesn't make sense.”

Employees of the café recently spoke to Atlanta's WSB-TV about the closing as well, airing their frustrations with Dupri due to allegations of nonpayment for the work. Workers came to work expecting what??? To work! But what they got was an unexpected sign on the door saying: "thanks for patronizing Café Dupri. We have closed indefinitely."

JD's mother, Tina Mauldin was the the one who ran the day to day operations of the cafe, according to the employees, and she not once told them what what going to happen. But what she did do was issue notices several times to employees stating that payroll funds were not available. How do you have a son who is supposedly a self-made millionaire and you can't pay employees at a cafe? So are the folks at So So Def being paid?

A notice dated Aug. 11 instructed the workers to go to "a Sun Trust bank and cash your check. The cash flow will not be in the bank until Tuesday after 12. Sorry for the inconvenience." Workers told WSB-TV that paychecks from Café Dupri have bounced for weeks and have been refused at local check cashing businesses.

Of course I understand not keeping the business open if it's not really making any money. But bouncing employee paychecks and just down right now paying them??? No way. That's not cool at all. According to JD's mom, when asked about the dilemma, she stated that all the workers had been paid and that it was a business decision to shut down Café Dupri.
