Alfamega Sends A Statement & Song Apologizing To The World

Former PSC member and label mate to T.I., Alfamega, supposedly has been hiding out somewhere for the last two months or so. Why? Quite honestly several things are playing out in my mind, but I won't speculate just yet on them.

Back in April Alfamega, whose real name is Cedric Zellars, was caught with a loaded .40 calibur semi-automatic gun after a routine traffic stop. Once the police found the weapon, he then attempted to escape police custody.

After he was arrested and released, the SmokingGun.com obtained a police report saying that the 37 year old rapper had been an informant for the Drug Enforcement Administration in a heroin-trafficking case during the 1990s.

It's not clear if this knowledge alone was the reason why Alfamega was released from the Grand Hustle team by T.I., but him being dropped coincidentally occured when this all came out... so you be the judge.

Anyways, Alfamega has released a song and statement giving an apology for being a part of the gangster images in our society. He says that he has now found God and plans to change his ways. He sent a the statement and the song over to Straightfromthea.com. It's being said by some that another rapper made Alfamega write this statement, so it's a bit shaky on whether or not this is even genuine. Check out the letter:
“This song, is an apology to anyone from age 8 to 80, that’s affiliated with or in any gang, To every parent (mother or father) that has lost a child to gang violence, every sister, brother, aunt, uncle, cousin, partner or whomever that has lost a loved one or a friend to gang violence either by death or prison. Even if I never met you or have known you personally, I want to apologize for being the root of the evil that is plaguing the youth of today, & I beg you for forgiveness the same way i would beg GOD to forgive me for every sin that i have committed, because i am 37 years old now, & i have finally become to realize by watching my own children that i wasn’t teaching something positive i was only teaching negatively”.

Sincerely yours,
Alfamega

P.S. I would like to end by saying, “Violence Only Begots Violence,” Lets move to a more positive direction & I sincerely, hope that people understand me & what I am trying to say in this song.

GOD BLESS US ALL”.

D.L. Hughley Ends CNN Show

It's about damn time!!! Don't get me wrong; I love to see a black man advance is career as long as it's legit, but when it results in damn near your comedic demise. D.L. Hughley had his moment to do something great, but instead turned the show into a menstrual show with preposterous racial undertones. Anyways...

On the heels of making national headlines for his interview with newly minted Republican National Committee Chairman,Michael Steele, D.L. Hughley has decided (we know CNN pulled the plug on this joint) to end his own CNN series, 'D.L. Hughley Breaks the News.'

In a statement released by CNN, the network announced that the 'King of Comedy' will transition to a different position within the company.
"D.L. approached CNN about being permanently based in Los Angeles , where his family lives. To accommodate this, we agreed upon a new role where he will be a contributor for the network based in Los Angeles . We are eager to continue our relationship with D.L., who is a tremendous talent and a valued colleague,"
the statement read.

The 45-year-old Hughley, who is also a weekly contributor to the nationally syndicated 'Tom Joyner Morning Show,' has not released a statement of his own.

BET's The Black Carpet Is A Wrap!

I heard that another of BET's shows is being cancelled. This time it's 'The Black Carpet', which was the networks gossip and entertainment news show... kind of like an Access Hollywood or Entertainment Tonight, but with the black spin. Dang... I guess the good ol white boys folks over at Viacom weren't playing when they said there were about to trim the fat!

DeAngelo Hall Cut From Raiders Roster

Former Atlanta Falcon and the now former Oakland Raider DeAngelo Hall has been been waived from the teams roster after eight months and eight games in to the season. All this after he just signed his $70 million contract. Maybe it was his big mouth that got him cut. This dude needs to learn when to shut up. Just because you're a good players doesn't mean that you are indispensable.

The Oakland Raiders’ decision to waive DeAngelo Hall has garnered many surprise reactions from his teammates who now wonder even more about the future of the franchise.

“I’ve never been in a situation where you cut one of the best players,” said safety Gibril Wilson, another of the team’s offseason acquisitions. “That’s strange to me. It’s almost like we’re throwing in the towel.”

The Raiders waived Hall on Wednesday, bringing a disappointing end to a short tenure in Oakland. The Raiders sent a second-round draft pick in 2008 and a fifth-rounder next season to Atlanta in March to acquire Hall, who immediately was given a seven-year contract. Hall was supposed to form one of the top cornerback duos in the league with Nnamdi Asomugha, but struggled from the start of the season as he adjusted to the Raiders’ man-to-man defense. He had shown signs of improvement in recent weeks, but was let go anyway following a 24-0 loss to the Falcons this weekend which dropped Oakland to 2-6 on the season.

“I’m obviously disappointed,” Asomugha said. “I don’t agree with what happened. I don’t agree with what’s going on. But I am just a player so I can’t speak on it. I don’t make the decisions. All I can do is play but I don’t agree with what happened at all.”

The move to cut Hall follows other changes made by coach Tom Cable since taking over from Lane Kiffin on an interim basis after four games. Michael Huff, the No. 7 overall pick in 2006, lost his starting safety job and is now a third-stringer. Ronald Curry, the team’s leading receiver the past two years, has been relegated to special teams play. Asomugha said the recent moves have led to some players being tentative on the field, afraid that they could be next to lose their starting job or spot on the team.

Terrence Howard Reacts To News Of Being Replaced

Terrence Howard has spoken out publicly for the first time since learning his part in “Iron Man 2” had been recast. Last week, Marvel Studios announced through The Hollywood Reporter, that the Hustle and Flow actor would be replaced with fellow actor Don Cheadle.

In a new interview with National Public Radio, Howard admitted he was shocked when he heard the studio had replaced him with Don Cheadle in the sequel to “Iron Man.”

“It was the surprise of a lifetime,” Howard told NPR.

Cheadle will step into the role of Jim Rhodes in the follow up to the summer blockbuster, starring Robert Downey Jr. The decision to go another way with the character, who later becomes fellow armored superhero War Machine, was reportedly based on financial differences between Howard and the studio. But according to Terrence, that news is definitely new news to him.

“I read something in the trades implicating that it was about money or something, but apparently the contracts that we write and sign aren’t worth the paper that they’re printed on, sometimes,” Howard continued in his interview with NPR. “Promises aren’t kept, and good faith negotiations aren’t always held up… The contract just… up and vanished.” Howard stated.

Niecy Nash Gets Cancelled!

First up on the chopping block for the Fall line up of shows... Niecy Nash and her crew over at Fox with their new show, Do Not Disturb.

The show has been the first cancellation of the fall season. Sources confirm that the critically savaged sitcom, starring a slumming Jerry O'Connell and Niecy Nash, has been axed after three low-rated episodes.

The show's Wednesday time slot will be filled with repeats of 'Til Death, which upgrades the network's 9 to 10 p.m. comedy block from excruciatingly painful to unbearably painful. (And yes, that is an upgrade, albeit a very slight one.) A Fox insider insists no official decision has been made re: Do Not Disturb's fate. UPDATE: Fox is now confirming the show's demise. News comes just days after DND's producers publicly apologized for making such a crappy show. All's forgiven! Just don't do this -ish again!

BET Cancels Rap City

Times are hard on everybody these days. The economy is in shambles, banks are closing, no gas available, and now BET is pulling the plug on an iconic hip hop show. MTV set the presedence with the cancellation of one of their biggest shows, TRL, and now BET has announced that Rap City is no more!

From what I'm hearing, we still have at least another month or so of the show because the last show supposedly isn't until October 26th.

There has been much talk within the Viacom family, on the airwaves and on other blog sites about this change "possibly" happening and now it's looking like it's a done deal!

I think we all pretty much knew this was coming. Rap City hasn't really done too much since conception in 1989. Rap City was brought to the masses to compete with Yo! MTV Raps and their dynamic host Fab 5 Freddie! I know some of you young butts are like "WHO?" Look it up!!!

Unlike Yo!, Rap City went throught a plethera of hosts from their initial host in The self proclaimed "Mayor of Hip Hop" Chris Thomas, to Rap City's best host Big Tigger! I think when Tigger left, that's when things went down! I think J-Nicks knew what the deal was, which is why he's here in Atlanta on the radio! It's definitely sad to see something that you grew up on die a slow and painful death! But... I really wish they would have done away with that dag on 106th and Park! I so dislike that show and it's dumb ass hosts Terrence and Rocsi!

Janet Jackson Leaves Island Def Jam

Janet Jackson cut ties with Island Def Jam Music Group and is officially a free agent, super producer Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins tells Rap-Up.

“We didn’t get the support from the record company,” Darkchild discloses. “[Janet] felt like it wasn’t pushed. I felt like it wasn’t pushed correctly. She just didn’t get her just dues as an artist of that magnitude.”

Darkchild also shared that he’ll probably be involved in Janet’s next record: “I could make an album with her, possibly me, Jimmy Jam, and Terry Lewis. Keep it real simple. They focus on what they’re great at, I focus on what I’m great at. We come together and make a classic Janet record.”

Aubrey and D. Woods Out Of Danity Kane

I knew it I knew it I knew it! It went down the other night folks. I'm talkin about all those "I'm going to take Diddy on by myself" type stuff from Ms. Aubrey O'Day. The fat lady has finally sang her last song for Aubrey and D. Woods. But I'm not surprised. I think Diddy was just waiting for the right opportunity to let them have it and he did just that by kickin they asses out of the group. This is how it wall went down:

According to someone over at YBF.com , sources who overheard the drama going down in the house dished to us about last night’s meeting. Boss man was in rare form. The meeting ended up in a huge screaming match with Aubrey talking sly at the mouth, (as usual) about Dawn going solo. Dawn clapped back at Aubrey defending herself, and brought up the fact that Aubrey did her own thing on Broadway this summer. Puff intervened, Aubrey popped off at the mouth at him again, and he screamed “You know what? F*ck you, you’re out the group.” Then he turned to D. Woods and said “I heard you were unhappy too. You can get the f*ck out too.”

Supposedly all this was caught on tape since they were taping the season finale For "Making The Band 5" (yes... they're bringing that crap back). And that particular footage could quite possibly be aired on television. If so, I am so sticking in to watch that -ish!

Well Diddy had plans for Dawn to go solo anyways. That's why her brought her up to Toronto to do the concert with him a couple of weeks back. No Danity Kane. Just Dawn Richard. The group also had a fight backstage during one of their concerts. So all this stuff just finally came to a head! But I don't put it past Diddy for this whole thing to be a publicity stunt! They groups and their managers, ect are in rare form with this kind of crap these days!

Star Jones Finalizes Divorce

Star Jones is officially no longer married to gay Al Reynolds anymore. The former “View” co-host and her ex-husband, Al Reynolds, have finalized their divorce.

“Star Jones and Al Reynolds have reached an amicable settlement in their divorce proceeding and expect the divorce to be finalized in the very near future. Both parties are moving on with their private lives and will be making no further public comments consistent with the terms of their settlement. Thank you for respecting their privacy,” a rep for Jones said in a statement.

Back in April, Star discussed her divorce from Al, saying she would emerge “stronger” from the experience.

“Several years ago I made an error in judgment by inviting the media into the most intimate area of my life. A month ago I filed for divorce. The dissolution of a marriage is a difficult time in anyone’s life that requires privacy with one’s thoughts. I have committed myself to handling this situation with dignity and grace and look forward to emerging from this period as a stronger and wiser woman,” she said in a statement to Access Hollywood.

I guess it don't matter anyway because Star has moved on to her new man and Al's got his as well!

Benny Medina Booted Again

I guess Benny Medina and Dame Dash could team up and go into business together if things really get too bad.

Seems Benny has just been dropped by another artist. Mariah Carey has just severed her ties with the famed manager just like Usher just did. Sources told Page Six that Carey had been unhappy with Medina - especially since she heard rumors that he was courting his former client, and her nemesis, Jennifer Lopez, again - and booted him on Friday. But Medina said, “I just had lunch with Mariah today. We’re restructuring her company and streamlining it. That’s all.” If he ends up streamlining himself out of a job, Carey would be his third major loss this year - Tyra Banks and Usher both recently left him.

Let The Rumors Fly: Usher and Tameka A Done Deal For Real?

Once again, we're hearing reports that new rumors are surfacing on the separation of Usher and his much older wife Tameka Foster, who by the way, is expecting their second child and Tameka's fifth.

The Chicago Times is where I read this first this morning. So Like I said, it's a rumor. But it would explain why Tameka's "guest" performer at her back to school event wasn't her own husband, and why Usher has all of a sudden rehired his mother. Let's put two and two together folks. It's not five... it's four!

Kwame Kilpatrick Finally Gives In and Resigns

He finally admitted being guilty about lying under oath. But what about the rest of the crap you've done mister ex-Mayor? When will you come clean about all of your dirty dealings, and how you were behind the death of that young lady who stripped at your home?

I'm sure my questions fall upon deaf ears, but I don't care. Someone needs to start holding our government officials responsible for their actions. Not just some; But ALL of them.

Today Kwame Kilpatrick pleaded guilty to felony charges in the sex scandal, forcing him out of office after months he spent months defiantly holding onto his job leading and still lying about his actions. He was ordered jailed for four months and fined $1 million.

"I lied under oath," Kilpatrick said in court. This plea deal finally gives the people of Detroit closure into a uneccessarily long seven-month ordeal that has been a really taken away from the attention that the troubled city has, including having some of the highest home foreclosure and unemployment rates in the country, and their loss of population, high crime and racial tension.

The Detroit city charter automatically expels any mayor guilty of a felony. A one-sentence letter signed by Kilpatrick and filed with the court states his resignation will take effect Sept. 18. City Council President Ken Cockrel Jr. will succeed Kilpatrick as mayor until a special election is held. As part of Thursday's deal, the 38-year-old Democrat is to serve four months in jail and five years of probation. He also would pay the $1 million in restitution over the five-year probationary period, cannot run for any elected office for five years and loses his law license.

During a separate hearing moments after Wayne County Circuit Court Judge David Groner accepted the mayor's plea, Kilpatrick offered a no contest plea in an assault case. The judge also accepted that plea, which called for Kilpatrick to serve a four-month jail sentence that would run at the same time. Kilpatrick had faced 10 felony counts in the two separate criminal cases. Groner asked Kilpatrick if he understood he was giving up the right to be innocent until proven guilty.

"I gave that up a long time ago," Kilpatrick replied. Dang! Kilpatrick also read a statement in court and admitted his guilt, saying "I lied under oath ... I did so with an intent to mislead the court and jury and to impede and obstruct the fair administration of justice."

The married mayor and former top aide Christine Beatty were charged in March with perjury, misconduct and obstruction of justice. They're accused of lying under oath about an affair and their roles in the firing of a deputy police chief. Beatty did not plead guilty and next will appear in court on Sept. 11. Groner said a plea deal in Beatty's case appeared likely.

The mayor will be sentenced on Oct. 28. He will report to jail that day, said Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy.

Jermaine Dupri Closes Cafe Dupri Unexpectedly

So So Def CEO and Hip-Hop mogul Jermaine Dupri closed the doors to his restaurant, Café Dupri, an eatery that he recently opened in the Buckhead section of Atlanta.

The popular eatery, which offered ahealth conscious menu, closed due to the ever ailing U.S economy, Dupri stated. He also says that because of the economy the business venture waas prevented from taking off the ground.

“The economy has changed dramatically and people just aren’t eating out as much anymore,” Dupri told AllHipHop.com. “People are cutting back everywhere and a lot of companies, including Café Dupri, are feeling the affect. For the past two months business at the Café has been down and if the business isn’t making money, I feel its a smart move to shut it down. Bottom line: if it doesn't make money, it doesn't make sense.”

Employees of the café recently spoke to Atlanta's WSB-TV about the closing as well, airing their frustrations with Dupri due to allegations of nonpayment for the work. Workers came to work expecting what??? To work! But what they got was an unexpected sign on the door saying: "thanks for patronizing Café Dupri. We have closed indefinitely."

JD's mother, Tina Mauldin was the the one who ran the day to day operations of the cafe, according to the employees, and she not once told them what what going to happen. But what she did do was issue notices several times to employees stating that payroll funds were not available. How do you have a son who is supposedly a self-made millionaire and you can't pay employees at a cafe? So are the folks at So So Def being paid?

A notice dated Aug. 11 instructed the workers to go to "a Sun Trust bank and cash your check. The cash flow will not be in the bank until Tuesday after 12. Sorry for the inconvenience." Workers told WSB-TV that paychecks from Café Dupri have bounced for weeks and have been refused at local check cashing businesses.

Of course I understand not keeping the business open if it's not really making any money. But bouncing employee paychecks and just down right now paying them??? No way. That's not cool at all. According to JD's mom, when asked about the dilemma, she stated that all the workers had been paid and that it was a business decision to shut down Café Dupri.

Let The Rumors Fly...Ciara and Philana

It's being reported that Ciara's ex manager Philana Williams, who was just recently fired by Ci-Ci's camp, may be secretly letting all of "Goodies" out the bag. Supposedly, now all of a sudden all of Ciara's business is in the street and on people's lips. Could Philana be retaliating against her for their sudden business separation by leaking private information to the internet bloggers of the black blogoshere or any blogoshere for that matter?

The recent split between Ci-Ci and Philana has been publicized by another blog site, who will remain nameless, through a series of tell-all allegations titled "The Ciara Diaries". All of this news is supposed to have Ciara upset. So they say. But the site also states that Ciara is a friend of the site... Sooooo why put your "friends" business out there like that? How trifling are you as a "friend"?

Anyways, "The Ciara Diaries" has been a three part series that makes some pretty shocking allegations. The stories chronical private details of Ciara's relationship with her alleged boyfriend rapper 50 Cent, her fallout with the man who put her on in the first place, Jazze Pha, and other details that no one knew about. And let folks tell it, Ms. Philana is behind it all.

Here is the 3rd entry for "The Ciara Diaries":

According to an insider, who is very close to Ciara, she doesn't trust her man 50 Cent. Ciara, allegedly, went through Fiddy's cell phone calling his celebrity friends, former significant others, and strippers. Rather than identify herself to them, she allegedly placed crank phone calls disguising her voice pretending to be an anonymous lover who was pregnant with his child.

When a few of these people figured out who she was, they called home boy who was naturally teed off. So teed off that he, allegedly, sent his goons down to Atlanta to repossess that Phantom automobile I told you about yesterday. So if you were wondering why Ciara was profiling in that car one minute, and the next minute it was gone - now you know. I guess when you're dealing with a child you take away her toys to teach her a lesson? Reggie Bush dumped her because he was tired of her games.

From what I'm gathering about this Philana chick, she's been in the game for a while and has a pretty nice resume to back it up. But if she's going around doing dirt like this because she get's fired, then she can cancel Christmas!

Buh Bye Wendy!

I guess the FCC is tired of all the loud mouths on air huh... cuz they are quickly shuttin folks down around the town. First Miss Jones got the boot, not once, but twice in two months, and now Wendy Williams? According to YBF.com sources who are pretty damn close to Wendy, exclusively told TheYBF.com that the Queen of All Media Wendy Williams was “asked to take a couple days off” from “The Wendy Williams Experience” until next week sometime.

I think we all know how to interpret that right? That means, "give us a few days, we need to talk about how we're going to fire yo ass!". They're not officially calling this a suspension but like Tip say... You know what it is! It is also being reported that the Wendy Williams Experience will not be renewed for 2009, so not only will her television stint be nixed, but her radio show is getting ol heave'ho as well.

It's being said that the other day on her show, she acted a fool about the fact that Inner City Broadcasting Corporation cut out her Bonus Hour even though it was in her contract. She said the Bonus Hour is her favorite hour of her entire 5 hour afternoon segment. And adding in the extra hour on WBLS was her idea. She went off on-air about how wack they were for removing it starting this upcoming Monday. Apparently her bosses said the listeners “voted” and wanted more music, less talk. And she just found out on Tuesday that there would be no bonus hour come Monday.

So ya’ll know she was a smart ass during her whole show about it. But there's more. Aside from all of her days shananigans, Wendy went on to tell the listening audience that her husband Kevin got arrested had a run in with NYPD a few hours before while he was innocently rolling through Manhattan. Oh really? You really want everybody all up and through yo -ish huh Wendy.

Oh, but there’s more. To cap things off, Fox Networks is not going to pick up her Wendy Williams TV Talk Show for regular rotation. They taped a few episodes these past couple months and it was only shown in a few test markets/cities. And according to Wendy herself, she’s heard nothing about them actually picking it up as a regular show. So that looks like it’s a goner too. The network will however be repeating the taped shows twice a day though starting soon.

And finally, it's being rumored that Wendy Williams will be getting a Satelite Radio show, and from what I'm told, that's a much sweeter deal anyways. Wendy has a movie coming out about her life, so ya'll be sure to check that out at a Blockbuster near you.

Rihanna Kissed The Girl... Goodbye

Rihanna has given Katy Perry the big kiss off. Ms. Rihanna is officially the bad girl gone good.

Her new single "Disturbia" just gave the singer a third No. 1 hit from Good Girl Gone Bad and ended Katy Perry's seven-week chart-topping streak for "I Kissed a Girl." Perry was the first female artist to hold the top spot for seven straight weeks since, ironically, Rihanna did it last summer with "Umbrella."

Rihanna's latest single made the two-spot jump to No. 1 after selling a week-best 148,000 digital downloads. Impressively, her previous chart-topper "Take a Bow" remains atop the Hot 100 Airplay chart, making this one of the rare times in which an artist simultaneously dominates the regular Hot 100 and the Hot 100 Airplay chart with different songs.

Good Girl Gone Bad originally scored just one chart-topper with "Umbrella," but Rihanna released a Reloaded version last June that contained the new hits "Take a Bow" and "Disturbia." As happens with bonus tracks on deluxe editions, fans often buy the individual tracks instead of the new version and this helps drive an artist's digital track sales.

Overall, Rihanna has scored four No. 1 hits, originally with "SOS" in 2006. This ties her with Beyoncé and Mariah Carey for the decade's most chart-toppers by a female artist.

Perry's "I Kissed a Girl" ultimately fell two spots to No. 3, with Chris Brown's "Forever" keeping at lock at No. 2. M.I.A.'s "Paper Planes" claimed the No. 5 spot, a career best, thanks to an 11-spot jump. The song took flight thanks to digital sales following its use in the Pineapple Express trailer.

So take a bow Rih Rih... you deserve it girl!

Yung Berg Is Getting Desperate For Attention

According to NecoleBitchie.com this lil bum ass dude Yung Berg was in North Carolina doing a show at an army base where he commenced to wiping down his sweaty/musty ass *uts. Then you know what this sonofa*itch did? He threw that nasty ass towel into the freakin crowd. I so praying that no one was stupid enough to even reach for that -ish! Miss Jones Get's Fired...AGAIN!

It's been a little over a month since Hot 97 and mighty mouth of the eastside, Miss Jones, was asked to exit her slot in the Hot 97 morning show line-up. Now, fresh off of that split, the radio personality has lost her follow-up gig in Philadelphia.

According to Radioandrecords.com, Monday (August 4th) was the last day the radio veteran, born Tarsha Jones, spent on the Radio One urban outlet for 100.3 the Beat in Philly. Miss Jones and her entire morning entourage were replaced by an all music morning show, “The Morning Beat.”

Jones worked at 100.3 while still at Hot 97. It is uncertain the cause of the change or the duration of the music-driven mornings on 100.3 the Beat.

Despite, Miss Jones getting doubly dismissed, she's pulling a Wendy Williams on us and hitting the television circuit. Jonesy has a reality show set to debut on BET. I'll keep ya posted
